Crazy! I lived in Juneau 1980~1989 when I graduated HS. Most of the area near the cruise ships and the tram are 100% new to me. This is such a nice 'walk through downtown' video: thanks to whoever made it. Maybe this person took a tour bus out the Mendenhall Glacier, too & has a video?
@@mapofthenomad In all my visits I never got there, but I loved biannual native Celebration, museums, glaciers, flying over ice field, and so much more. I visited 15 times, starting with cruise, then solo on my own. My favorite is Hoonah. Did you have a chance to watch carvers in town? They love to share their stories and art. I still like your approach. With many bad videos yours is the top. Recommendation: Fleming yachts. Intelligent narration, superb filmography.
Another revelation. No idea Juneau was so big and urban, yet still has some of its historical remnants. The cruise ships seem out of place, but they probably drive a lot of cash into the town. Thanks for posting...👍👍
Don't count on a sunny day when you visit Juneau. It's like a rain forest. But the nature trails are beautiful. Just bring an umbrella or hooded raincoat. The town is right next to a huge snow covered mountain in winter. Seems it is just a matter of time before an avalanche rolls over the town.
Looks like an interesting place, however the 'no talking, no descriptions' m.o. is really not helpful. We really don't know what we're seeing/looking at. Adding some descriptive conversation goes a long way, and is very helpful.
