I faced the same issue with my driver when I travelled to South cos of language barrier. There was a clash initially but later on he became quite friendly.

By the way, I feel Bakel, Wayanad are more beautiful than any other places in Kerala and Kozhikkode is the best city in Kerala for many reasons. House boats don’t have specific names. One one owner owns a bunch of them 😄 you can google and get a standard pricing booking. Exactly like hotel bookings.
