exploring little free libraries in nyc! 

I LOVE little libraries that are empty or messy. Gives me a chance to pop some books in it and tidy it up. Plus those are the areas that probably need books the most.

We have two Little Free Libraries in our small town, and we're not far from a large university town and there are dozens of them. Whenever I organize some of my shelves, I end up with a bag of books that I keep in my car and when the opportunity or mood strikes, I visit some. Sometimes the book faeries seem like they're leaving treasures for me everywhere I stop, sometimes I don't find much. But I always enjoy seeing the different neighborhoods and all the interesting houses and gardens.

Even if you rent you can have your own library. Just install it in a giant pot in your front yard so it can then be moved later to another yard.

There is three little free libraries at a walking distance from my house and I often find very good books. When I clean my room I go for walks to unhaul my books quickly, which is extremely useful.

In your great grandma's time, even up to the 1960s, such things did happen. Some just knew they had deep instant connection and were destined to be together. It still happens, once in a while. My childhood friend's parents were this, only it was the woman who said this to her parents. He came around to sell insurance, and afterward she told them. It did happen, and they were married over 40 years, until his death. He was about 10 years her senior.
