Sad to have left but had a truly amazing time in the Philippines even with the horrible circumstances caused by Covid. Hopefully it wont be too long until we come back. I miss Manila bay. I lived in Pasay city for 30 years and the Cultural Center is located there where you can get a hydrofoil boat going to famous Corregidor islandnl which is just a stones throw away from the pier. thank you for sharing. 😍

2:50 Filipinos in large cities still greet you. I think it's just the pandemic that caused people to have lesser interaction with strangers. Less talk less chance of virus infection. Remember Covid cases were very high in the capital compared to El Nido.

I was in Porto and Lisbon last March 2020. Rode the fastest train called Alfa Pendular. Atlantic Ocean is breathtaking:) Food is cheap, people are the friendliest in Europe. I speak a little Portuguese so it help me to get by.

Your manner of speech is so soothing and calming and during COVID days I think your viewers needed that. From start to finish you both showed your respect and appreciation for the country and her people. I hope you will get your wish and revisit The Philippines when there is no COVID. Glad you end your day in the Philippines watching the sunset in Manila Bay. There are many places of interest to visit the old Manila and Makati. You can also adventure outside Metro Manila to Batangas, Tagaytay or Laguna just a few hours from the city. Next time, now that you like it. Looking forward to a new vblog from Portugal

Thanks for the last two vlogs of your stay in Makati. The places you walked and filmed were very familiar to me. That's where I worked and stayed for a long time after graduating college. The elevated foot bridges you used were built in the 90s when I first stayed there. Thank you so much. I was teary eyed looking at the familiar places. I loved that place so much. I think i know the reason of some people didnt say hi back i think they are just shy cuz they think that you are rich maybe thats why like insecurities like that😅 or maybe they gonna say hi but they changed their mind cuz they shy it happen to me 🤣..sometimes i got shy saying hi and after that i think the foreigner think that im rude🤣..but maybe some people are really "cold" ahahaha but i can guarantee you, majority in the city is friendly like me🤣🤣... but some are just serious people or shy ahahah... Nah.. I've stayed a long time in Makati and I must say that people are cautious of other people saying 'Hi' or approaching you. It's because these people are either trying to sell you something, begging, or just plainly trying to scam you. So it's just better to ignore everything else.

People in Makati, global city and other soci place doesn't say hello or hi becoz they preempt by they work or their social status but if you go to other parts of metro manila like simple place they have d same attitude as province people.

It’s more of their social status thinking they are better than everyone else. Sorry to say but some filipinos in that social part of that city have that crab mentality. Sorry you had to go through that and thats just the truth to it.

I don’t believe this is true at all. A very tiny fraction of the people walking around BGC or Glorietta 5 live in those areas and most of these people in Makati at working hours either work there or have appointments there that they’re going to. I find it more likely that people in the busy areas of a city are either wary of strangers especially if they’re alone, or they didn’t expect to be spoken to in the first place. That happens to me sometimes when I’m in a hurry and someone says something to me unexpectedly and by the time it registers that someone spoke to me I already hurried past and immediately feel a little guilty and feel like I’ll just embarrass myself if I turned around now. Lastly, I find it ironic how someone would judge strangers of having crab mentality when they’re the ones pulling people down when they don’t even know them. Obviously there are snobs in the city but it’s not like there aren’t any out in the country either as shown in this thread. Sheesh.

@Liberty PEPP-K I like how you state your generalization as fact. The most humble people I personally know are filthy rich people living in Binondo. Arrogance has nothing to do with social status nor where you live nor how educated you are nor how friendly or outgoing a person is. If a person doesn’t greet you back, it doesn’t automatically make them arrogant. They could have social anxiety, they could have been deep in thought, maybe they didn’t hear. There can be so many reasons but you immediately choose to judge them as being arrogant without knowing these people or what their circumstances are. Are you really telling me you don’t see how judgmental you’re being?

@@Poo0fi I agree with you.. there are simply envious people who can’t believe rich people can be morally good or kind.. it’s people like that who have true crab mentality.. Many other ordinary Pinoys have a chip on their shoulder. Some of the most suplada people I know are normal lower middle class people and even some squatters (sexist, stuck up, taray, racist, homophobic, islamophobic etc),.. and I have some friends from the upper class, some of whom are on TV, who are warm and caring, give their earnings to charity often, and don’t speak down to anyone else.. we can’t generalize people..
