His history is wrong. If he says that Kuomboka started after 1871, and that the Kololo came and beat the Lozi during that time or after, this is incorrect. The Kololo, under Sebetwane, crossed the Zambezi river from Botswana in 1839 and conquered the Luyi in the Zambezi flood plains. The Kololo ruled the Luyi until 1864, when Sipopa led a revolt in which all the Kololo men were killed, but the Kololo women and their children were retained and incorporated into the tribe that became the Lozi. The Kololo women transmitted the Kololo language to their offspring, and hence the Lozi language. Sipopa became the Litunga. About my chronology, there is no argument. David Livingstone was taken to the Shungu Namutitima Falls in Livingstone in 1855, where the arrogant white man proceeded to call them Victoria Falls, even though the Kololo told him that they called them Musi o tunya. The only way the chronology of the Induna can make sense is if he is saying that the Kuomboka Ceremony started in 1771, as this would allow ample time for the confusion that he says engulfed the Luyi, and facilitated the Kololo interregnum, to have occurred.
