This time out, I head down to South Wales to explore Morlais Tunnel.
Morlais Tunnel is 1040 Yards long and was built by the London & North Western Railway to connect with the Brecon and Merthyr Railway (which they jointly owned)
The tunnel was opened to traffic in 1879 and closed with the line on 6th January 1958
This was a great explore and well worth the 300 mile round trip!
Plenty of surprises along the way
