Exploring Nevada | Great Basin National Park to Lake Tahoe | Route 50 

We’re exploring Nevada on a road trip through the middle of nowhere. US route 50 is known as the loneliest road in America. Route 50 covers 400 miles from Great Basin National Park to Lake Tahoe crossing high mountains with high desert in between.
65% of Nevada is public land that’s operated by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. If you’re on Route 50, you can practically stop almost anywhere you’d like. Parts of the region where traveling through was a flood plain that was home to dinosaurs a 100 million years ago and the oldest traces of humans date back to around 10,000 B.C.
