Hi guys! Short one today... We headed out to a nearby farm where a friend of Colin has a few old cars and trucks hiding in the trees, including an old Nash! There are also a bunch of trucks; lets walk around and have a look... Maybe we should give one of them a home?
Thanks so much to everyone who ordered a 1937 Chevy shirt! They are all shipped now, so watch the mail if you haven't received yours yet! Cheers from me and Miss Frankers!
See you on Saturday for the SOS... Cheers!
Please feel free to check out our Patreon page at :
www.Patreon.com/coldwarmotors where we have extra videos and pictures and a bunch of people hanging out and bs-ing about cars!
We have set up a Paypal Donations Page if you'd like to help out the cause here... Very much appreciated! Here is the link:

This was cool - glad to see the Frazier out and about with Ms. Francine in the back. And I think I've said it before: Hunnybunny is a keeper; you don't find many women with the gumption to wander fields with their guy in search of old cars. I liked those trucks in the mid-70s, and hoped my dad would buy a Scout...but he bought a '76 Chevy Blazer instead. Do you think the owner could be persuaded to part with one of the IH grill ornaments for a fan? See you Saturday!

Scott, I recently sat next to an 87 year old man at a dinner party: He shared an automotive ditty that was new to me that ties in with two of your cars Buy your wife a Frasier and amaze her, Buy your wife a Kaiser and surprise her, Buy your wife a Tucker and xxxx her This guy ran music clubs in Manhattan in the 50s and 60s and the drug scene there prompted his move to SF Ca. He's the only guy I ever met knew Billie Holliday.

Used to be farmers never threw anything away or scrapped anything. One farmer I knew back in the 1970's still had every car and truck he ever bought. When one wore out it just got pushed to the side and they went and bought a new one. The old guy was in his eighties in 1972 and had cars going back to the twenties. They had a couple of Model A front ends complete with cowls they would tow around and hook up to grain augers and stuff they still used.

Of the tri-five chevs, the '55 and '57 get all of the praise and hoopla, but I've always kind of dug the '56. You don't see as many of them, and they looked great too.

Yeah, I'm "not feeling" that one. He has a space problem now. If he can't take just the doors, seems like a lot of time and effort to bring another scrap car "into the fold" that will delay his working on his other projects, but won't bring his own current Nash any closer to roadworthy🤔

Scott, that IH crew cab had the identical grill and front end as my 67 Travel-all! I paid $650 for it in 1971, drove it for 11 years while crossing the USA and Canada several times, living in it, using it as a construction vehicle and off-road explorer until I sold it for $200 to a guy who replaced the carb and drove it for several more years! Good luck cutting the Nash out of the woods! Cheers!

When I was a kid, my dad would take the family on trips up 471 in rural central Florida. At an intersection near Tarrytown, there was a Nash just like this one sitting upside-down under some trees. It sat that way for so long it became a landmark to look for during the trips. Many years later, I took my girlfriend on a road trip up that way and to my surprise it was STILL there. Seeing this Nash-though in a different orientation-brought back a lot memories from those trips. Thank you for sharing this trip. It is a testament to the beauty of those old Nashes when they can be art, even in abandonment.

Good stuff, Scott! In order of appearance: 67/68 IH 56/57 (S series) 54/55 (R series with valuable grille ornament) 50-52 (L series) 37 (? series, but before K/KB) 65/66 Travelette(crewcab, C series) I'd guess was a fire truck, red wasn't common on those. However, it's probably the most desirable of the group, as in SERIOUSLY, drag it out & sell it!! Farmer could make some money selling gauges, trim, doors, etc. Ashtray handles highly sought after!!! Kudos to HB for braving the bush! Cheers all

Ah that was fab, seeing you two driving through those lovely canadian country and the freshly cut field. Took my mind back to the late 70's, i was 14 and we were out in the Peugeot. My mother had staid home to drink gin and take several WTF tablets. My two younger cousins, me and my old Dad. Off to the scrapyard. On the way home we were overtaking a Ford Capri. The Capri sped up as we were overtaking, Dad exclaiming expletives, cousins shouting 'GO ON UNCLE RON!!!PASS HIM! Me, only 14, shouted 'put your foot down Dad, this will do well over 100mph! 😮😮😮😮😊😊. As it came out i knew id put myself right in it. . The remainder of the journey was joyous raptures from the cousin clad back seat and silence from the front seats. My father, who'd won many awards for 'Sharper than a tennis ball' local competitions had realised the implications of what his 14 y/o had blurted out. Yes, my secret was out. A clip around the back of the head later and we were back on talking terms. I miss my old Dad, he was the best.😊

When I was little, we passed a recent accident scene where a priest had been sent to his reward by his Chevy's steering column that was driven 6 inches upward, the rim pushed downward by the poor fellow like a half-closed umbrella. Those big Nashes had battering ram columns, right out of the factory. I've always been torn over their skirted bodies; not having preceded me into this world, they aren't as magical as they might be, but the sheer width and interior space the design afforded certainly amazes. And the cool chrome bits really glow against the old girl's mossy blanket, eh?. Thanks to Alberta's First Family of Junkhunters, we get to go along.
