Very interesting..noticed the walls have the same exact structure like the Temple of Abydos in Egypt. All stones have different sizes and shapes. They fit perfectly together and no mortar was ever used. The Incas, Mayans and Olmecs were on par with the ancient Egyptians when it comes to innovation and technology. Very interesting. I appreciate your mentions of the altitude and all of the very useful information. I'm gonna sound like a broken record but again, thank you for your amazing informative videos.i started getting vertigo when you went up that steep trail without giard rails to visit the Inca houses up that mountain. 😳. For selfies. Portable tripod and the gopro wifi connection with a smartphone. 😊..Enjoy and please stay safe 🙏🏻

Thanks for your observation and feedback! The architectural similarities are indeed fascinating, and it's incredible how these ancient civilizations achieved such precision without mortar. Thanks for the selfies suggestions. I might try that.

Thanks for this video--it's really helpful to know what we are going to see and do when we get to Peru! I'm wondering about the best timing for visiting these sites, both in terms of avoiding tourists and in terms of the sunlight. Would you say it's better to visit Ollantaytambo ruins at 8:00 a.m. rather than at, say, 3:00 p.m.? And is it better to hike Pinkuylluna in the late afternoon or early morning? I noticed that Ollantaytambo ruins were entering the shade when you were hiking Pinkuylluna.

Thank you. Yes, it is better to visit Ollantaytambo ruins so early in the morning before the tour groups start coming. I hiked Pinkuylluna in the afternoon around 13:00 and the whole place was to myself because it is not that popular. I suggest you stay in Ollantaytambo town for a few days. It is a beautiful little town to explore.

@@WandererBell Thanks for the response! I was thinking the tours might disappear in late afternoon ...

Interesting how they cut the Stones to firmaer each other. 11.000 feet, I never was that high outside an airplane. I see some bouldings with mortor between the Stones. Are they inkan or modern. The mountains are beautiful. Spanish I know they speak in Peru, but do they also speak some modern variant of inka?

Their stonework is unique, and it remains a mystery even to this day. Most buildings in the Sacred Valley still have the same foundation from the time of the Inca, with just slight modifications. Quechua is the Inca language, and the locals in the Sacred Valley region speak both Quechua and Spanish. However, in Lima, the capital of Peru, people speak Spanish for the most part.

Is it spring time in Peru now? looks pretty hot and humid
@WandererBell
@WandererBell 10 месяцев назад
In Peru, spring season typically starts in September and ends in December. This is because Peru is located in the Southern Hemisphere. It is actually a little bit chilly at night and warm in the afternoon. I still have to wear a jacket at night and early morning. It is not humid at all now. No need for A/C at the hotel.

Thank you. If you mean health insurance for traveling outside the U.S., then I use GeoBlue for a long term international travel or American Express travel health insurance for short trips.
