In this video we explore our new lode mine in Josephine county. The workings on the property we're trenching in search of pocket gold. The original locator of the claim is unknown. Prior to world war ll there was a pair of brothers who worked the property. with very little knowledge on the mine and the lower workings flooded it's going to be a fun adventure resurrecting this mine!

Ahh, refreshing to find some mining family. Im sure you understand ones stand-off-ish-ness when it comes to trying to network with new people, but you seem like good poeple. Anywho, i got the gold bug good and i was wondering if i could bend your ear, you know. Learn from you, like some basic educate, do's and dont's. I dont want to step on any ones toes. But at the same time fuckem, this is still a free country and i got the second amendmemt... I spend alot of time on the illy and know the care taker at the swangin bridge. How do you know if the celling and the wall of the cave is safe enough to go in ?

We look for faulting and prior collapse. As a general rule we don't touch the walls unless it's in a stable section of the mine. If a mine echos that's a good sign of stability. All mines should be considered unsafe and I don't recommend going in unless you know what you're doing or are willing to face the potential consequences.
