Glad you got to experience Petrified Forrest, even though that wind was extra. I went twice in the last two years, both times a bit windy but a great experience none the less. You guys are doing great but just a suggestion for this park, the curse of taking rocks would have been a nice 30-90 sec blurb and the prairie dog stories are pretty interesting. Did you catch the petroglyphs at Jasper as well? Newspaper rock has a bunch more that are on the left of the main rocks. The more time you spend there, the more unique that park is. Also, i personally thing coming up from bottom has better flow. Great point on restrooms, never noticed but your right, other than the start and end. I hope you enjoy your road trip.
That wind was insane! I hope y'all get to revisit sometime with a little less wind. The Mesa's and badlands are similar to a bigger version of Oregon's painted hills, I was shocked at how vast they were since ours are pretty anemic. RIP to the hat!
Driving along I-40/Route 66 on Monday & Tuesday 2/25&26, between Oklahoma City and Kingman, Arizona was brutal. Probably the worst two days of wind I’ve ever driven in!
