Exploring RAF Museum Hendon: A Journey Through Incredible Historical Planes 

Some nostalgic artifacts from the previous wars..

Wow!! This RAF Museum is vast indeed! Hanger 1 built over an aerodrome. The mix of war birds and ground combat vehicles made a great introduction to the museum at large. I appreciated the uniforms, military plaques, and medals. The interactive machines - I saw older adults enjoying them. LOL And I love those things as well - I learn much from them. The F-35 is amazing. The MR.5 is a monster! The Flying Porcupine - got a lot of combat mileage out of that one. Amazing inside! I love opportunities to look inside the planes. Absolutely loved Hanger 2. I have never seen such a vast display of WWI war birds! And these are so well preserved and kept up beautifully. I love WWI planes. The variegated solid wood propellers are beautiful. Great engines. It is amazing how they are constructed. And the aircraft history all started in England with a mail carrier plane? Wow. The Biplanes and Triplanes are amazing. I noticed the exhibits of images and narratives along the walls in the back for history. Thank you for covering the English history of the planes all the way back from 1912. Is it not amazing how they have suspended the many planes in the air? Thank you for posting about the balcony to get a fabulous view of them. I would run right up there. Hanger 3! Fighter Jets! My favorites. And I love how the hanger ceiling has an aerodynamic look as if in the clouds with the flying jets. Fab! Another great opportunity for views on a balcony. These are beautiful planes. Again! How do they keep these massive jets suspended in the air?! Maybe they gutted them from engines and such to make them lighter. And Hanger 4 consisting of 3 hangers!! Great planes in there and great shot of the Spitfire! And the strategic helicopters! I used to work on programs with helicopters and they are quite versatile and something to be reckoned with if they were attack helicopters. By the way, I have seen many shows and videos of the Red Arrows!! I would love to see them in an air show or ceremony of some sort. Here in the US, the Blue Angels (US Navy) and the Thunderbirds (US Air Force) flew together for the first time ever during COVID. They flew over every major city in the US in support of the nation. I think the Red Arrows did the same over England - correct me if I am wrong. The display of the fighter jet seats are interesting. They do not look very comfortable - the look like torture chairs. LOL The Vulcan/Tin Triangle is massive. I guess the mission was stealthy and secretive. Steve, you did an admirable job narrating this video with detailed historical and technical information. Amazing!! Thank you so much for covering the RAF Museum. I think I would want to spend an entire day here. I am so glad there are café’s to enjoy a lunch break and coffee during the tour. And once more - the music selections were BRILLIANT!! They were the icing on the cake for this video!! May this vid spread far and wide on YT!! Blessings!

I remember visiting this museum in 2007. I took the northern line and walked about 1 km. It’s clearly had some money spent on it since I went. When I went; the hanger with the aircraft from the First World War was clearly off to the side and I was the only person who was in there taking a look at the excellent collection of very interesting old biplanes. They were all on the ground, none were suspended from the roof, and the information boards looked like they were from the 1980s or possibly 70s. Great to see people taking a look today.
