Sulu has been always one of the regions that most Filipinos are afraid to travel to. It's kinda sad that whenever we heard the word "Mindanao", the immediate impression is that the whole island is dangerous. Yes, there are dangerous places, but it sure is big enough to avoid them.
I recently had the opportunity to visit this so-called MOST DANGEROUS place in the Philippines. Sulu can be pretty intimidating for first time travelers but with enough knowledge and just be responsible to know and decide which places to go and avoid, you'll be fine.
I hope that through this vlog, you'll realize that it is safe in Sulu. There are certain areas in Sulu which should be off-limits to tourists but there are collaborative efforts of the police and military to address peace and security issues. Tourists have been deprived of the beauty of Sulu and Sulu has also been deprived of tourists. There's no harm in trying to erase the stigma that Sulu always carries along its name. Surely there are many parts of Sulu that are really far from what the media paints it to be. Witness it yourself!
