After a recommendation from a Facebook Group, we tried these 3 best Veg meals places in Chennai and we loved it!

We are Muzna and Thauseef from Chennai. Typical Chennaites, grew up in Chennai but have been all over the place for our studies/job/business. However, we love the quirks of our city, Chennai. Come join us as we share a small part of our life here on RU-vid.
We love food, travel and banter. This channel is a combination of our personalities and experiences. We have a 2 and half year old son who keeps us on our toes but we love multitasking. We are doing exactly that by juggling business, job , kid and a RU-vid channel.

Maris used to be my favorite places in the 70s and 80s. It has been a long time since I live out of India for 30 years. Miss it though.

ashoka and palmgrove are run by the same management .. for thali i like Ashoka and i will give 75% but palmgrove i will give only 35% for their tastes....

Oh it's been many many years since we visited palmgrove. It used to be an awesome place when we were children. Need to check it out again to see how things are now.

Try national meals it's more tasty than all but you might like service , it's very crowded , I terms of sale in meals it beats every hotel in Chennai

What are the two three languages you spoke? What is in a South Indian meal to compare?

Tamil, Urdu and English I think. South Indian meals have a lot to compare including taste, quantity, variety of vegetables, service, whether they serve Appalam, whether there is ghee, whether there is podi, whether they give roti or puri, taste of vegetables, taste of Sambad, rasam and more kozhumbu, whether there is dessert, whether there is ice cream, whether it is expensive, whether there is a lot of waiting time, whether place is hygienic, etc

@@thechennaicouple7343 Whatever you have shown is a working lunch and your variant of Puri etc is called Bombay meals. In any good ambience, the price paid should not exceed ₹100-₹150 for this standard lunch. What one should look for the price you quoted should be: There should be 3-4 varities of Soups/ Rasams. There should be 4-5 starters of different idlies, ooththappams/ Vadais/ Bajjis/ Kuli Paniyarams/ appams/ pesarattes etc. You covered only main course of standard lunch- dal, sambar, vaththa kuzhbu, rasam, payasam, buttermilk with Sadham+ kosurus like appalam, pickle, ghee... There are no desserts like Kesari/ Jangiri/ Mysore baug/ pastry/ Ice cream and betals.

maris every item is tasty and they serve plenty with no hesitation but they dont change their menu mostly potato and cabbage curry only ... sambar and rasam are always the best in chennai if compared with other hotels of it standard

Vadapalani NAMMA VEEDU VASANTA BHAVAN (near Forum Mall) is the best in business for the proper ELAI SAAPADU. Variety of vegetables, curd, sambhar, rasam, sweet and more and more rice all for ₹147. PLEASE TRY THAT PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you reached little late to that hotel. If you were there before 1 pm, you can get vegetable like, bitter guard, brinjal, snake guard etc. If you are late you would ended up in potato or cabbage like vegetable.

@@thechennaicouple7343 oOkay there is a small place on Periamet in Chennai called I think Kauvery lodge. There is a restaurant there. Not sure it the lodge owns it or what. But it was few years ago when I visited home (India), I happened to eat there because the taxi guy suggested. My mother,s Vathakuzhambu is so famous in the family, but Inhave to admit it was better than that and till date I haven’t tasted anything even close. I have travelled quite a lot and still remember that mouth watering vatha kuzhambu fro there. Don’t know if the restaurant is still there. But I always went there whenever I happened to be in Chennai after that. Please try and post a video if you can. Thanks!🙏🏻

As you rightly said Hotel Maris deserves nothing ; such an worst restaurant. If you taste their potato fry it’s literally half boiled potatoes were mixed with little onion tomato gravy. Not properly fried the way it should be. Worst food, very expensive. Only the ambiance is good. Worst place to have lunch.
