In today's video I'm diving into a very deep and unique oscillator from 4MS called the Spherical Wavetable Oscillator. This is a digital wavetable oscillator capable of chords, drones, sequences and much more. It has an incredibly intuitive interface and can create a wide range of sounds from beautiful ambiance to experimental noise. Think I'll be revisiting this module as there's a lot more to explore. That module is very Sci-Fi and beautiful sounding. Nice! There are some nice Rainbow Dome Musik moments in Jam 1.

I bought mine despite historical dislike for wavetable sounds - but my disting ex showed me they don't have to be all spikey weird sounds... One thing worth mentioning - there's an alt function that introduces a low pass filter effect albeit static AFAIK. Useful to soften it on a per oscillator basis. Mind you I still have a total dearth of filters so wondering what to use it with... Maybe a quad filter :) I've been trying my swn with harmonaig this week. That's nice fun... Ally thanks as usual for ridiculously good inspiration! Great vid as always.

Glad we are getting the same sounds out of that bad boy. Another thing to try is to use it like you would the Odessa module. Would like to see your take on that.

It was mentioned on the live chat that the SWN might pair well with QPAS, and I'd be curious to see how it would do with something like Mojave or Arbhar, really leaning into that ambient drone kind of thing.

I see your Dual Dagger jumps around quite a lot in your setups. Is there a specific reason or is it just part of your reordering modules for demos? 😎

It depends what’s going on in the rack. I often use it directly after a stereo oscillator as a dedicated filter for that oscillator, but I also like it near the end of the chain, before the reverb, so I can make nice reverb bursts ☺️
