About an hour's drive away from Edinburgh is a wonderful park called The Helix and hidden in The Helix is a fantastic pair of sculptures called The Kelpies.
They're very tall, and beautiful in the sunshine! You can walk around them, look at the canals which run nearby, enjoy a bite to eat from the cafe or catering vans and explore the visitor centre during opening hours.
Once you've finished admiring The Kelpies, you can wander through the nature reserve spotting birds and animals and then play for as long as you like at The Helix Adventure Zone.

If you're able to walk a little way, park in The Helix Car Park. It's closer to the playground and it's free!
