FWIW We stayed at the Provincial Park at Porpoise bay for a few nights and had our 18ft boat along....on a cruise up the inlet we found hundreds if not thousand of Porpoises jumping all around our boat...made for a great day :-)
I told the wife that I could spend a summer exploring such spectacular county. When we traveled though Canada last summer, we camped almost every night at Provincial Parks. They were all really nice campgrounds and most gave out free wood. Thanks for sharing your vacation with us. It just makes me want to get there sooner than later. Maybe a summer exploring BC is in the future.
Thank you, I miss BC and Canada... your video took me back for a few minutes to a place where I only spent half a day as a walk in passenger oa a long BC ferry daytrip many years ago. What a great video. I hope life allows ne to live long enough to go back and make that trip again. Very nostalgic writing from a south american barren wind_swept town where trees are a luxury...
Wow! Canada is fantastic. I can't wait to explore it. Y'all have some beautiful country. With all the provincial parks you show the government is doing good. Congrats!
Not at this time, unless one happens to find us and we just can't refuse , Anne is currently battling an auto immune disease which severely saps her energy, leaving me to do most everything, so don't want to add a dog right now, especially a young puppy. Maybe down the road, although we would also like to do some extended international travel when she recovers. Cheers, Ray
@ 5:51 "Gorgeous" Was that said about Ann or the beach/view? lol. Best say both Ray lol. Anyway, I love all your vids. Thorough reviews and how-to's and really like how you do your travel vids with a map overview. Plus, they are just so relaxing. Kudos Ray. You two RV the way I want to. 👍
I was curious about that old green ferry and found this article. That ferry was the Albert J. Savoie but was renamed to the RJ Breadner after it was sold off by BC Ferries. I believe it did the Hornby Island run for many years. www.coastreporter.net/news/local-news/transport-canada-launches-inspection-blitz-in-sechelt-inlet-1.23069316
We really enjoy your videos and laid back presentation of very helpful information. Just wondering what camera/phone you use to take your videos. We are heading South down the west coast from Alberta and are interested in a dash cam. Any recommendations? Thanks again!
Thanks. :) I use a Sony Camcorder for my main video tool - www.loveyourrv.com/love-your-rv-gets-a-new-4k-camcorder-sony-fdr-ax53/ for dashcam I recently installed an Akaso, so far it has worked pretty good other than the GPS connection is a little flakey www.loveyourrv.com/akaso-trace-1-pro-dash-cam-review/ Previously I had a Garmin Dashcam 20 and it worked well - www.loveyourrv.com/my-new-rving-gadget-the-garmin-dash-cam-20/
Ferries are expensive. For the BC mainland to Vancouver Island. The truck and 2 people usually cost close to $100 Canadian then after 20 feet, they charge $6.50 per extra foot. During the busy season, they often have certain days that are 50% off the extra length cost on select runs. www.bcferries.com/promotions/bring-it-all.html To go to the main Vancouver Island they charge you both ways, some of the smaller Islands the charge is one way and free to come back. You can check fares on all the different runs here - www.bcferries.com/travel_planning/fares
The naming of “The Sunshine Coast” originated with a pioneer family: the Roberts of Roberts Creek. In 1914, Harry Roberts painted “The Sunshine Belt” name on the side of the freight house on the first wharf built in Roberts Creek, and the name was apparently used to promote Roberts Creek as a summer resort destination. When the Black Ball Ferries started a car ferry service to the coast in 1951 they started using the term “Sunshine Coast” to promote the whole area and the name quickly caught on.
Ray, I just watched your video on likes and dislikes of the 3500 ram. You should get your wife a sheep skin seat cover, it will help with the hot sweaty seat and be a lot more comfortable.
