Hi Laptop Seniors! Love your channel. I am an EXPAT from the USA and I not only currently am renting the past 2 years here in Bella (BAY-YA) Vista, but have just put a deposit on a brand new construction condo just 2 blocks away! After 2 years of renting, there is no other place in the city I would rather live. Some tidbits for your followers... It is very very safe here. I walk around and even all the way to Multiplaza Mall frequently (about 2.5 miles) and have never yet felt unsafe. Now directly due west of me is Caledonia, and I have been told not to go there at night. I have been there many times during the day (barbers, mom & pop Fondas, cheaper grocery stores without any issues, but I do not go there at night, just in case. But the main reason for my comment..... the path along the Pacific Ocean is called "CINTA COSTERA". From end to end (Paitilla to Casco Viejo) it is 4 km on the bike path. But if you take the walking path along the stones/pavers and go around the 2 parks along the way, it is closer to 5.5 km. I run there 4 days a week and I love it so much that this was a big factor in my decision to purchase here in Bella Vista. It gets hot in the city every day, so it is best to get out early. Some tidbits of interest... Most folks do not realize the dramatic tidal changes each day here on the pacific. But when you go down the hill and across the 2 walkover bridges from Urraca Park (Parque Urraca), you arrive at the first marina. Depending on the time of day, the boats are either floating or sitting on the muddy bottom. The tide changes probably like 15 feet or more with the changing of the tides. I have photos with boats in both positions. Next, SUNDAY... On Sunday's the city shuts down not only the main highway along the Cinta Costera but also the bridge over the ocean that loops around Casco Viejo. Just like the 1970s and 1980s in the USA, on Sunday this entire area is loaded with families, runners, bikers, roller bladers, scooters, etc. It is an outdoor family affair every Sunday and there are even bike rentals along the path for $5 for the day. On these days, you can take the path without fear of traffic all the way from Paitilla in the city to the far end of Amador Causeway. Fantastic and I love it! And my surprising other favorite thing about Bella Vista.... Urraca Park turns out to be the HOT SPOT in all of the city for CHRISTMAS and NEW YEARS. Starting in early November, the park is decorated with amazing lights and Christmas displays and is crowded almost every night with families, vendors and others just enjoying the lights and the atmosphere. The lights were up almost into February. I do not think I can add photos to this comment, but if I did, I would show you some great photos of my time here with all these wonderful things Bella Vista and Panama City have to offer! Keep up the great work! Chris C
We spent Christmas there ,it was beautiful, the parks were lit and Christmas music was playing, you can walk to the fish market, a 35 minute walk.and it is safe. We loved it. Now we are selling our house and returning.
Guys let me clear that up for you. Bella Vista is the name of the county (corregimiento) which includes La Cresta, Marbella, obarrio, the crab town and old Bella Vista. So you guys are in old Bella Vista also known as Bella Vista itself. So basically either Bella vista viejo or Bella Vista Bella vista👌 You hit the nail on the head with the fact that it doesn’t look like Costa del Este but it just feels like home 🎯
Love your video's. I am approaching retirement and I am considering relocating overseas. At least for part of the year. So I find your video's so helpful. Thank you!
I'm enjoying your videos and learning a lot. My family and I are thinking about a trip to Panama City this summer during the kids' break from school. Very interested in checking out Panama City.
This is great and so informative… thank you! My wife and I are considering retiring to Panama in a few years time and this is super helpful. We are Brits living in Canada at the moment (moved here in 2018 and now Canadian Citizens)
Nice video. TFS. I'm visiting Panama in a month but I'm having a hard time finding where to stay. I want to be near the shopping malls as well as the skyline. In your opinion, which area is the best for a first-time family trip to panama ?
I love your videos and the ways you two interact 😊 Do you know how much apartments in Bella Vista cost? I’ll be looking for a 1 or 2 br. Thanks for all you do!! Keep the videos coming!😊
Hey Posh. I thought I might have done too much correcting on this one, lol 😂 we appreciate you watching. There is a wide range depending on which street and building and the length of your lease but reasonable pricing can be found as well as high.
I’m sorry, I enjoy your videos also but reasonable pricing does not say anything. I’m actually trying to decide if Panama is an option for me. I need to know the price ranges. What you get more or less for how much. I’m always disappointed at the end that you guys do not want to go there.
Hi . I'm going to Panama city for honeymoon for 5 days this summer. Which hotel would you recommend? Comfortable hotel with breakfast and easy transportation and restaurants nearby would be nice.
Hi Congratulations! Our friends stayed at the Waldorf to celebrate and loved it. There are several in Punta Pacifica with great views. For a more affordable spot see our review of the Marriott Executive Apartments.
Gotta remember that. In Greece now (every year for 90 days). Wife is Greek and a chef ... gotta sample it when we visit in Sep or Dec 2024 to apply for Visa. Great job ... like the pace and varied info.
Some people like it, some people don't. If you don't like heat and humidity, do not consider Panama City. If you like heat and humidity, Panama City is like heaven.
Panama City is very sketchy. There are vast areas where the infrastructure is almost no existent. Large areas where there are no street lights but large groups of people hanging around. It is a city of extreme have and have nots. We never felt UNSAFE, but your radar is going to be going off, big time
