I visit the Walsall canal from the BCN mainline Ryder's green all the way down to the tame valley section in the west midlands . the canals are interesting as some date really old to when Industry was once prosperous, coal mining , steel works and many more the black country was a great place of a example of industrial revolution. the Walsall canal has some interesting features from old bridges industrial still thriving along the canal .

Great video mate I used to fish the walsall canal a lot had some nice fish I haven't been for a few years now and from seeing it in such a state I don't plan to either but great video as always

Thanks bud I bet the fishing is still good shame the state of canal at parts I wouldn't mind trying a bit of fishing myself one time somewhere on a cut . I'm gonna have a look what that section is like past James cemetery soon

Someone may tell you that the pronounciation of Wyrley is...werrrleee not Y er lee. In fact it was at times called Y er lee. Today we call it Werrr Leee. I fish the Wyrley and Essington canal at Pelsall North Common and up the Cannock Extension. Good video mate, I'll check out some more. Keep 'em going 🙂

sadly most of the industry has diapeared over the years and only a few large factories remain. you can tell this by the number waste grounds or new housing estates being built over the last twenty, thirty years. plus I saw you down the canal recently and said hello.

I enjoyed that, amazing network of canals to explore around the Black country. I know little of that area so thanks for the video showing us all. That last section looks like it goes all the way to spaghetti junction to pick up down to London and up to Burton upon Trent.
