Welcome to Martis, a picturesque village nestled amidst the stunning landscapes of Sardinia. In this video, we'll take you on an unforgettable journey to discover the mesmerizing beauty of the Cascate Triulintas, one of the hidden treasures of Martis.Located in the rugged terrain of Martis, the Cascate Triulintas is a series of cascading waterfalls set against a backdrop of lush vegetation and towering cliffs. Fed by the pristine waters of the local streams, these waterfalls offer a refreshing oasis of tranquility in the heart of nature. The Cascate Triulintas is situated approximately one and a half kilometers northeast of the village, in the historic-geographic region of Anglona. The waterfall is located just downstream of the confluence of two rivers: the Riu Triulintas, also called Riu Pontisella, and the Riu Iscanneddu, which contributes the majority of the water flow. Downstream of the confluence, the river is named Riu di Badde Traes and flows through a deep gorge carved by water into Miocene rocks of volcanic origin dating back to a period between 16 and 20 million years ago.The gorge of the Riu Triulintas and Riu di Badde Traes, populated by lush vegetation, is particularly winding and rugged. Due to the irregularity and hardness of the andesites over which the water is forced to flow, it frequently cascades, such as at the Triulintas waterfall, which is approximately 12 meters high.Next to the waterfall are the ruins of an ancient water mill, the Molinu Triulintas, a testament to the skilled use of water power by humans not too long ago.
