I stayed in Bukavu from 2017 up to 2022. It has great potential to be a very beautiful town however, city authorities do not do any effort to regulate development. Case of La Botte, beautiful situated next to lake Kivu. However, roads are small, narrow and not paved. Same for Muhumba. Pedestrians lake pavements to walk and have to manage dust or mud.

I told the people of Bukavu its unacceptable that the climate in Rwanda is different from that of Bukavu yet it is the same soil, same regiona, demographics. Go in Ruzizi plan they crying no rain but they cut all the trees there…

I was just in Bukavu, I lovef it there. I joined a Facebook group of people who are planning to move abroad because i have always wanted to live in bukavu. I was born there and i left when i was 9 years old, i grew up in kenya and Canada but bukavu has my heart. I spend a month there in July of 2024, I'm planning to go back next summer and probably spend 3 months and see if i can get used to living there. My entire family is there, everyone looks like me, they speak my language, they're so nice and friendly, it felt like home. I only posted some videos on my RU-vid channel

I left Bukabu in 1989 for Nairobi, i came to the United States in 1993. It's sad to see how my former beautiful and Green city has been destroyed. The city is now a big Ghetto. Yes, many buildings have been built, but the city is destroyed beyond recognition. 😢😢😢

They're building roads now, newer roads in many neighborhoods all around the city. I think this current governor is doing a good job compared to all the other ones. Bale ba zamani balikuwaka ba mwizi tu. Minatoka bukavu last week, it's changing
