Hi Tommy. Prime lenses when I need to use a wide aperture and zoom lenses for everything else. In the studio I use a range of focal lengths in various zooms but mostly at the low telephoto end.

Hi Gavin, loved this one like I loved all the others. I must have watched all of them of the last 6 or 7 years and they are all entertaining as well as educational. This time I do have a question, though. Do you have a budget for the props you use per shoot? Or another way around: is it more important that it looks real than it is real - I am thinking of the sword. I just checked amazon, ebay and a medieval shop out of couriosity and found nothing under 100 Euros that looked nearly realistic. But you can also spend 400 Euros on a medieval sword... I reckon that Sam made the shield by herself but the other props looked fairly real and expensive... Thanks a million for an insight :) Best, Peter

I am obsessed, and pulling my hair out, with figuring out something on your two Sekonic light meters - the 308 and your new 858. Your f-stop readings do NOT include any 1/10 stop increments. How do you accomplish that?? I use Sekonic meters and always have the 1/10 stops indicated. I prefer yours! I contacted Sekonic who told me I could not eliminate the 1/10 stops, but I see you doing it, so there must be a way! Thank you.

It's fairly straight forward on both Sekonic meters. It's not really a quick reply on a video kinda straight forward, so Google might be a better option. Super brief, the 858 had a settings option to turn off 0.1 options and I think I then had to change another option too. The 308 you have to hold the mode button while turning it on and choose one the 0.3 options (I tried a few before it worked on the 308X)
