From floating in the Dead Sea to hiking Masada, our time in Israel was off to a good start! We rented a car in Tel Aviv and drove to the Negev Desert near the Dead Sea. We hope this can be a helpful guide if you are looking to explore Israel on your own!

Israel is not super expensive as you said, and you don't have to live on noodles. There are many very good restaurants in a reasonable price. It seems as you have found only one "tourist trap".

Although I'm 5'9 and 188 lbs I'm 53. Easy hike? Josh, I would stick to the tram. The Dead Sea look beautiful but with that much sodium content in the water, wasn't it unhealthy?

Haha yes the tram is a great option. Especially if you were to visit during the summer or later in the day after it gets very hot!

They survived by prayers, the place was built by extreme prayers, of course! Is that haze fog or smog? They say the Dead Sea can cure any skin diseases and whole lot of other diseases, that so?

We also heard that there was a lot of health benefits of the dead sea. Not sure how much it does help though!

Hi, how's the weather in israel nowadays? We have a trip there this coming February and we were told it was winter season. Trying to figure out what to bring with us for the trip.

We were there for most of December. The mornings were cool but it was pretty normal for the afternoon to reach mid 70's. We usually started off in a light jacket and ended up taking it off for the afternoon.

You do know half of Dead Sea is part of Jordan so why are you saying Palestine owns it? The King of Jordan kicked them out back in the 70s for good reason.
