I visit Appuldurcombe House in Wroxall on the Isle of Wight. It’s a grand old shell of a house which from the front looks like a proper mansion. It’s in a beautiful location surrounded by gardens (and sheep!)
Featured on the legendary paranormal show Most Haunted (series 6 episode 12), it is known as one of the most haunted places on the Isle of Wight so in the sunny light of day I see if any ghosts want to come and say hi!! Also you should DEFINITELY make 'ghost hunts during the day' your thing! I'd love to watch more of them! See the real derelict beauty of some abandoned places as opposed to just dark hallways and jumpscares.

Ha ha thanks so much! I’ve actually got some ideas of more haunted places to visit during the day, but also want to do some actual overnight ghost hunts too at some point 🤣🤣

It really is a stunning building. I went on an organised ghost walk a few years ago. Brilliant atmosphere and we went into the cellars too.

Sounds amazing, I would love to do a proper ghost walk there! I read that you can stay in the holiday cottages and access the grounds at night which I’m definitely going to try next year 😁

If I could afford it, I would DEFINITELY buy that house and fix it up all nice. It reminds me of the governors house from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Have a little read up about lady Worsley! There was a tv drama made ‘The Scandalous Lady’, Natalie Dormer played lady Worsley. I haven’t watched it yet but this has just reminded me to. The guy she had an affair with lived at Knighton Gorges, which is another very haunted area on the island. Unfortunately the house burnt down, all that stands now are the gates. There’s plenty of spooky stories about that place. Interesting piece of history.

Ah really interesting! I’ll be sure to have a look, I had no idea! That’s very cool about Knighton Gorges, I’ve got the book about the ghosts there! I was thinking about doing a RU-vid video there but wouldn’t be able to properly look around if it’s just old gateposts 🤣

I used to work here, and had to lock up the cellars at the end of the day (looks like they've shut it off now - havent been there in nearly 20yrs). The light switch is at the other end of the cellar and it's two parallel tunnels, the one on the right you cant see in your video, it was scary!! Hated it when it was starting to get dark! Theres also a rumour of a monk (I think) walking around in the fields nearby. It also never used to be free which surprised me!

That is so cool I would’ve loved to work there! It’s a shame they’ve shut off the cellar to the public. I hope one day they open them up again because the other tunnel sounds very spooky

Shame they keep the cellars locked these days; they were open for a quite a few years in the 2000s and 2010s. One of the stories is that people would see shadowy figures on the walls down there.
