The Lucas Family Gristmill was built back in 1935 after Dr. Charles Lucas moved his family from New York to North Carolina during the Great Depression. The Gristmill was used to turn Rye, Corn, Oats and Wheat into flour to help provide for the community during the difficult times. Unfortunately in 1970, the gristmill caught fire and this is all that remains even after 50 years. This place is also supposedly haunted.
