One of the highlights of Barot is the Uhl river, which flows right through the valley. The crystal-clear waters are perfect for trout fishing, a popular activity here. Whether you're an experienced angler or a beginner, the experience of fishing in these pristine waters is unforgettable. We also visited the Barot Dam, an impressive structure that plays a crucial role in the region's hydroelectric project.
For the adventure seekers, Barot offers a variety of outdoor activities. We embarked on a trek to the nearby Polling village, which is known for its stunning landscapes and vibrant meadows. The trails are surrounded by dense forests and offer breathtaking views at every turn. Camping under the starry sky in Barot was another highlight - the clear skies and absolute quiet make for an unparalleled experience.
No trip to Barot is complete without indulging in the local cuisine. We savored delicious Himachali dishes at a local eatery, including siddu, a traditional steamed bread, and trout cooked in a variety of styles. The simplicity and freshness of the food here is something that must be experienced.
