When I was a kid in the sixties we played marbles every day. I had three stashes of marbles. First was my playing stash. Second was my trading stash. Third was my showing off stash. One of these was called a mooney which was a creamy white shooter size and when sunlight shown through it would project an opalescent crescent moon on your hand. Thanks for the video it brought back some memories for sure.
Brings back lots of memories seeing the old dump sites. When we were kids we traded marbles for almost anything and I had the greatest secret way to have unique marbles in colours only I could supply. A friend of mine had a sphere grinding machine for making rocks into spheres for his dads jewelry business. I found a huge dump site that had tons of broken uranium glass, millefiori glass and telephone pole wire insulators from 1900 or so guessing from the other bottles I found. I would supply him with broken glass pieces and we split the marbles we made. We felt like bandits trading broken glass made into marbles for anything we could get. In the 70s everyone had black UV lights for felt posters so we played marbles in the dark with glow in the dark marbles. You could easily make some really neat marbles from the scrap glass you collected. And because it was actually used to make marbles you would end up with perfectly round marbles in colours that actually existed long ago.
I honestly never really appreciated marbles until I watched this video! This video just amazed me! Makes me want to start a collection. Thanks for the inspiration.
You want to Arrowhead Hunt first. Believe me....it is way better than this. But this is cool. If you live by a river or a large stream. Get out on it and start looking. You will even find some marbles from time to time.
LOL!! you've combined two of my favorite things---slopping along through a creek bed and finding brightly colored shiny objects! Love your doggie too, she's a sweetheart.
You sir are in " Marble Heaven " ! So amazing to share your experience walking through that creek. That error find is so awesome too. Great video Rocks & much continued success.
so dont be jealous. It is a place of death....a place if you get in the water....you would get cancer or have health problems down the line. That is NO GOOD. They honestly need to clean the place up with a Federal Grant
Wow! I'd love to go there! That cullet is awesome! Those marbles you picked out were exceptional especially the error one and the patch one. Beautiful! I'd be in marble heaven! Dog Bubble looks so good! 💖💯
Hey Rocks! I almost had a heart attack watching this video and telling you, get that! There’s another one! Oh my gosh, grab that stuff!! Hahahaha. Great video and you got some awesome glass and marbles today.
Just started watching your videos, great content. Adventures around every turn, thanks for sharing. My Dad used to watch them make glass products all the time when he was a kid in Wellsburg WV
great video as always, if i ever found a place like that i would be there all day. whats nice is no digging involved. i finaly tapped my dump out so i have to find another one, in 12 digs i ended up with 80 keeper marbles and some good bottles among other things....cant wait for your next video
I've always had an interest in errors/misprints when collecting. To me it's a neat look into the production and factory process that you don't normally get to see. Also, dang!! Talk about a jackpot location!!
Nice bucket of marble glass and marbles for a half hour I would like to do that one of these days there's no where around where I'm at to find marbles like that and I don't have a vehicle to travel I'm on foot but I've found some nice marbles in the creek keep the good work up I hope to see more
I found simular items like your finding no marbles but cullets all kinds never came across anything like it before. was so much fun picking out of gravel.
Mornin Brother , not much to say about this video . Everyone beat me to it ! Wow , Wow , Wow ! Only in my dreams . I love glass of any kind . Thanks for taking us to the "Gold Mine " . Later ,,,,,,,
Over the top . I've seen you hunt the creek several times over the years and it never gets old...that place is Amazing ✌️😎 I've did a little bit of hunting in my time. I've never seen anything like that . So so cool !!!
