Back in the 1950s and 1960s, Richardson had a high concentration of residents with Masters and PHDs in math, science, and engineering. One of the top ten greatest inventions of all time, the fully integrated circuit, was invented by a Texas Instrument engineer, Jack Kilby, in 1958. He and two other TI engineers invented the hand-held calculator in 1967. Many more inventions occurred. TI management had a building built for instruction in 1962 for the TI engineers who wanted to work on their Masters and PHDs. Eventually the building was turned over to state education officials in 1969 and it became UTD. All that engineering talent created wealth, and the wealth created jobs. I have seen a 6 million + population increase in DFW, all because of that engineering talent.
As someone that lives in California, I have respect for Texas colleges. Both states have good schools but I feel Texas is easier to get into acceptance rate wise.

Do US universities accept A Level credits instead of AP or IB credits? And can students do their B. Sc in three years instead of four with A Level credit?
