I live in the Netherlands and stroopwafels are actually never that expensive. Fresh stroopwafels like the one you bought are usually about €1,50 - €2,50 or so. You probably just bought it at a really touristy place. Btw... Coffee shops and the red light districts are not that big of a thing for locals. It's just a really touristy thing.

Ik ben bij die plek geweest, het is gwn insane hoe duur het is, de grootte valt wel mee. Een kleine stroopwafel kost vgm daar ook €4 (ik weet het niet zeker)

7,95 cents for one stoopwafel 😮 you can but about 70 stroopwafels for that money. At least 20 if you want good quality (in any supermarket).

Sabria Ramirez because the first coffee shop ever was a teahouse, and they only sold soft drugs (aka weed) and they called it coffeeshop, this term didnt excist yet in the Netherlands. Because they didn’t sell hard drugs it was tolerated and other shops started copying them.

It's also good to do utrecht - den haag - rotterdam. because they are 3 completely diffent cities. Rotterdam is such an underdog but sooo amazing

Yes, Rotterdam is like a little Hamburg, or maybe even a "Mini-Berlin". There is not that much of nightlife though.

I love that you said there was more to the Netherlands then Amsterdam. I went to Amsterdam and didn't enjoy myself. Just wasn't the place for me. I will need to go back and explore other areas!

Amsterdam is amazing but the touristy areas are horrible.. I’ve lived here my entire life and there are so many wonderful places and neighborhoods! I don’t enjoy going into the center anymore because of all the tourists, cheese, souvenir and stroopwafel shops that have taken over 😢

I personally live all the way in the east of the Netherlands, it’s so different from Amsterdam but really beautiful, i love the nature in my area! 😊

I live 20 km from Utrecht. And i prefere Utrecht way way more then Amsterdam. Do a bike trip,on the vecht. As a real Dutch,for me Amsterdam is horible.

I think you should go to Groningen. It’s not very crowded there but is kinda like Amsterdam but smaller. And it’s a student city so the vibe there is very chill. And there almost are no tourists. I have been to almost all the city’s in the Netherlands and this one is my fav of all times.😊

You should absolutely visit Leiden! It's a student city (I study there hehe) and it's lovely with beautiful canals and cute little vintage shopping streets ❤️👌

MazzelSammy. Leiden is wonderful! It features the ancient site of the blue stone which marks the intersection of the Four Quarters or Wards of the medieval city. The Rapenburg canal is the most beautiful canal in the country!

Tori Torres as a Dutchie I think most people expect you to be a tourist and it is pretty hard to make friends if you don't speak Dutch. But everyone will understand you so just keep trying, I know for sure that people are interested.

Tip from a dutch person: buy your stroopwafel in the supermarket, they are just as good and 10x cheaper. If you want to buy streetfood get poffertjes (tiny pancakes), herring or fried fish from the marketplace.

Utrecht is also one of the cities where a lot of festivals and concerts are organized. It really has a very pleasant vibe, and if you're in Western Netherlands...try to find some Surinam roti.

I totally expected this video to be all about Amsterdam after seeing the title, so I was pleasantly surprised that you explored two other cities as well ❤ I hope you had a lovely time in my country and if you ever visit again I recommend visiting Delft, as well as some of the wadden islands and some of the eastern provinces and Zealand. If you'd like to go to a fun, fairytale-themed amusement park, definitely visit the Efteling :)

Gosh, you remind me so much of myself when I first came to Holland in the 70s. Stayed 5 1/2 years, returned to the States for 12, then returned to the Netherlands at Christmas in 1989 and have been here ever since. You made me wax nostalgic little lady. 🌹

im so sad that amsterdam is mostly known for weed and the red light district. it’s so cool to see how u experienced the cities! i go to school in amsterdam and my grandma lives in utrecht, so i know both cities pretty well! i love that u visited more cities then amsterdam, because the country is just much more then that and amsterdam is not really fair (or something like that :P) cuz its made for tourists. (sorry for my english.. i probebly made a lot of mistakes:/)
