@@Kazcmyzs1989 the ethics committee actually does a good job of preventing incidents such as this. They don't care so much about individual life but the overall picture
@@Kazcmyzs1989 It depends on your headcanon tho. In my headcanon, the Ethics Comittee decide "what is and is not acceptable" while they "balance evils so that on the whole, and in the long run, evil is minimized". www.scpwiki.com/ethics-committee-orientation
And yet unethical things happen there too. It sometimes feel that it's not a committe but a suggestion. And if it is in uroboros cycle universe- Then SCP Foundation have an infant hooked up to a machine
@@masterzoroark6664 like i said. The ethics committee doesn't weigh each scenario on a single life(especially if ita d class), they make decisions based on the overall benefits. If they feel that sacrificing a few innocent lives, including infants, will benefit containment as whole, they will do it. They mostly keep site directors and doctors from going overboard on experiments that put the world at risk.
The way Anderson talks about her and knows she's a genius without realizing he's squandering her potential. He could have given her many opportunities for her to flourish after he bought her but instead made her into a machine.
Anderson was much more aware that he was working with a human, as much as a dick he is. He knows that Callisto has needs and wants, like giving her a comb to brush her head to calm herself down and trying to work within the confines of her stamina or expand said stamina. Dark sees her as a tool and tried to force what he wants without respecting Callisto as a being with a will, and listening to him was just her will. It is like riding a bear and kicking it when it is too slow, he only made her realize how easy it is to overpower everyone around her.
@@sugarkane1571 yeah, okay but on the flip side Dark was presented with a human shaped machine lacking the capacity for speaking or eyes, nose, mouth, etc. and treated like it as it was presented to him; as a tool The other dude knew she was a person and destroyed her to fulfill a contract. Anderson is way worse
This was quite a bit more competently written than your average SCP. Really like the kinda one-off SCPs, this universe gets a little claustrophobic for me sometimes. Everyone is determined to one-up each other with the most badass and powerful monster. This is classic man vs nature with a twist
Its always a treat to hear about the other factions that are always so enigmatic get put through something like this. It always feels like the SCP foundation is getting played time and time again, but its refreshing when we see that even other engimatic factions like MC&D here along with an Andersen screw up and act human. Its a generally chilling thing to learn that even they can get kind of fucked over and that even they feel emotions.
@@UGNAvalon as well as most everything occurring in Indiana. My home state is a lovecraftian nightmare to kaktus apparently and all I ever see is corn, sometimes beans.
Your work has been with me through out my last semester of uni and really helped me relax and get a bit distracted before id plunge back into studying. Hope you know that your work is greatly appreciated, have a great day :)
Anderson: Let's not use a nuclear reactor because it would draw the attention of the US or the Soviets Also Anderson: Let's build this huge a** solar array
Solar arrays dont produce a byproduct like most forms of energy (such as steam with nuclear), and it can be fully disguised if you have advanced enough technology which he definitely did
@@CrazyAbdul1000 do you know just how much byproduct reactors make? Where are you going to transport it, how are you because again its steam not a solid material. Compare that to an array where all you have to do is disguise the outside and be done, which by the way you'd have to do for the nuclear reactor anyways, and its obvious why you'd go for solar
@@Biosquid239 To be fair, nuclear power plants don't actually produce much waste at all compared to other waste-producing energy sources. We THINK about nuclear waste a lot because we aren't just pumping it into the air. We have to deal with nuclear waste ourselves, manually. Storing it in a deep well is actually not that insane. Weirdly the real issue Anderson would have had is actually delivery of nuclear fuel, THAT would attract people's attention. As for OP, solar array is a bit obvious. I think this was before satellite camera systems, at least before their widespread use like we have now. Still, building it at a geothermally active location would have been much more reliable, plus you wouldn't have the whole damn thing exposed to air so anyone can see it if they pass by.
Dang, I thought this was some sort of immortal, super-human Babylonian king with a 10-foot long beard that tortures and executes criminals with a stone tablet while shouting *"AN EYE FOR AN EYE, A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH"* named Hammurabi...
"The all seeing eye which you might remember from the ouroborous cycle" Yea I remember it was Anderson who created it too and he was the former O5-3 before it. It's so interesting how different stories change everyone in different canons. Gotta love the scp universe.
So they put a girl into a machine and broke her mind and body and then she gained omniscience and power to change the past? *Church of a Broken God has entered the chatroom*
@@skeetsmcgrew3282 I prefer powerful SCPs and GOIs . If marvel , DC and other shit can be powerful why not SCP ?? Afterall SCP is cosmic horror too along with thousands of other genres .
@@theadministrator2641 Yeah I don't even consider the SCP universe and Marvel in the same league, Marvel is extremely well produced trash IMO. Part of why I hate Marvel is like, why the fuck are characters like Black Widow even hanging around people like The Hulk. That huge disparity of power ruins everything. With SCPs, they are all so dangerous that their power balances itself out. Yeah sure there's a lizard that can't die, but he is so full of existential hatred that he's generally useless as a weapon. I also find it childish to think that the government would work with the Marvel characters, like as if any nation would allow god-like powers to be in the hands of private citizens. Vigilantism is frowned upon pretty heavily by most nations. I would be interested in the SCP containment protocol for The Hulk though lol
These scp videos keep me going. Please upload more? I listen at work, for sleep, for stress reduction or just for some peace of mind. It's nice to put my mind into this world as opposed to dealing woth putting my mind into the world we live in.
the picture of an Star Craft Adjutant is rather fitting because the first generations of those things where exactly that plugging a psychic in to a computer against his will just to remotly look at places where you dont have cameras
I'm purposely not watching your videos so that I can watch all of it while I eat my snacks since your narration of the SCP universe is nothing but wonderful
Everyone talking about how they have a hard time falling asleep when these vids come along, while im over here falling asleep to these and i say that in a very good way
Every night before I go to bed, I just search for a vid by you and stick it on whilst I fall asleep. I feel like I've obtained an entire library in my head about the scp foundation now thanks to you and your videos, and that ain't a bad thing! Keep doing what you're doing man, the content you put out is the best!
God I can never wait for another Exploring Series video! Which sucks because I've nearly watched every video and look forward only to the new video in excitement for which series we shall explore next!
When I first saw 2:08 all I heard in my head was "Your base is under attack." "Your Ally's base is under attack." and "Additional supply depots required."
Quality content and colourful voice. Your articulate wording and excellent presentation makes your videos quite easy to get accustomed to. Since your voice is so soothing as well, your work also has a therapeutic value thus it becomes very pleasant to listen while trying to relax or sleep. Please do not stop anytime soon, as it more or less has become a craving of mine to listen to your videos when in need of auditory relaxation. Especially in these difficult times, seeing that you have published a new video is a very welcome sight!
Thank you, I have terrible adhd and struggle sleeping and your channel has helped an insane amount. These videos should also be an scp it never fails that it takes the shape of your narrative, and always so vivid. Thanks again.
I watch these videos like 2-3 times cuz of how relaxing your voice is and I use them to help with my insomnia half the time. Thanks for all the great content!
I know djkaktus, is, well, djkaktus. But I never thought he'd reference the ouroborus cycle, not only as part of an scp, but as a core backstory piece of an otherwise unrelated one.
I’ve always wanted to comment this but i always listen to your videos to sleep, not because they’re boring but because they’re calming. I also love to watch your videos in general!
Hey Exploring series, I love your voice and length of videos you put out, it really helps me get through my work day at the machine shop. I was hoping to make a request of more Thaumial SCPs, and in particular SCP-4006 massathuthets. Hope you're doing well and enjoying your time making content as well as living your life.
It sounds pretty clear that this takes place in the same universe as The Ouroboros Cycle, since djkactus is known to connect his articles to one another very well. Granted, certain things don't always happen in the same universe (like everything related the floating city being able to exist outside the Ouroboros universe), but it's clear that these two co-exist, especially when considering everything that happens in the Ouroboros universe tends to be inconsistent with data from the original documents.
It must also be noted that Anderson really cared so much about Callisto that after she tried having the vision of the past, Anderson actually helped her rest and sleep in her quarters and expressing great gratitude towards her.
@@sam-zb1jy his accent doesn't sound America to you? He isn't more exotic than Canadian, and "hear me out here", I know he can be an American living abroad, but we're just guessing here, aren't we?
This is a very interesting set of circumatances. An anamoly that transcends time and space at the cost of feeding on life itself, and is so full of hatred that it attacks people to some extent. Frankly, I would've blown it up.
Too intriguing not to clilck this time Edit: amazing quality, can totally imagine this being an episode of an esgier cartoon or maybe a movie for kids getting into that stuff. I don't know if 775 million is appropriate payment. Either it's obviously about right or obviously significantly but not multiple times too little. Can you even get billions in the 70s?
Guys arriving after TES makes this video public: You’re commenting before this video was released? Wait, that’s illegal Me: It’s a simple spell, but quite unbreakable
