Exploring the Severn Valley Railway (Part 1) - Running Time 27 minutes 16 seconds (Recorded Thursday 17th August 2023).
My journey along the award wining Severn Valley Railway began at the northern terminus of the line, Bridgnorth, and I stopped off at the delightful rural village stations of Hampton Loade and Highley. As a railway enthusiast I have always wanted to visit the SVR. On the day of my visit additional trains were put on to cater for the large numbers of visitors and there was a wonderful atmosphere which added to my enjoyment. The past 50 years have seen the railway receive numerous awards and I was most impressed with the variety of steam and heritage diesel traction and rolling stock on display. Also, each of the stations along the line have been painstakingly restored to recreate the feel of a 1950’s railway. Part 2 features the stations at Arley, Bewdley, and Kidderminster Town which is the southern terminus of the line.
