At the bottom of ego's bag of tricks is it's favorite tripwire.. 'bringing truth into illusion'.. I have fallen many times over this obstacle for over thirty years and still have to walk carefully every day and every moment.. Thank you both for this discussion.
I feel that we are at a Crossroads, Corrine... Your decades-long study of ACIM, and relative new-ness to these other, more esoteric teachings... My situation has been the opposite. When I first started to do the Workbook lessons at the start of this year it felt a bit like they almost clashed with the embodied spiritual practices (that I had previously been more familiar with), in that the Course is very much about mind training with no mention of feeling into energy centres in the body. However this wonderful discussion has shown me that the two quite different spiritual approaches can actually really compliment one other. Alongside practising A Course in Miracles, I'm also practising and working with a body-based trauma therapist who's entire focus is on embodiment. For me it feels just as important to have that embodied spiritual practice alongside studying the Course and doing the Workbook lessons. Thank you ❤️🙏

Excellent, excellent conversation, Jon, Corinne and all! I am so thrilled the Course community is strong enough in its foundation to expand outward into additional wisdom teachings and experiences! For a couple decades I felt like I had to keep my ACIM side and my metaphysical side separate. Now thanks to some of my adventuresome Course colleagues (i.e. mostly Bill Free) I'm also incorporating non-dualism. And it is All so helpful and when integrated, I feel like they take me to a level I couldn't get to with one alone. For instance, the Course reminds me the energy body, the aura, the chakras, my energy work is no more real than the body - it's just another more subtle form. But placed in Spirit's Guidance it is all used for awakening. It keeps me from getting too attached to anything that doesn't last, so I can be more lighthearted with it all. LOVE it, love you guys!
Hi Diane! I love how you said that we're strong enough in our foundation to explore additional experiences. I was just reading about how Bill Thetford never stopped exploring his own metaphysical library in addition to ACIM. I also love how you said that the chakras, etc. are no more real than the body - that it's just a more subtle form and under Spirit's guidance can be used to help us awaken. BIG YES!! My 1st year into the course, I had an experience during a meditation which was interesting. I experienced I assume my Soul rise up into my head area and turn itself side to side as though It was adjusting itself in my mind and it seemed to be saying with this act, Finally. I thought of this when Corrine made the comment about making room for the Soul. I really didn't know how to put words to it or a logical thought but that makes sense maybe that's what was happening I did make room for my Soul
Both soul and spirit are Devine and eternal terms, however having a soul denotes separateness. Spirit denotes a connectedness, wholeness and completeness.
