Exploring The Streets of Alexandria Virginia (Inline Skating)

Today we skate and roll around on the streets of VA, Alexandria under the Woodrow Wilson bridge to be exact haha I am on a quest to find a shoe store and it takes me all along the boardwalks of the small town. Let me know what you guys think of the podcast style skating and what you think about the new shoes I got!

The 'not even rideable' road is what I have to learn on. Half of the UK's roads and paths are like that and worse, to see a skater this pro slowing down on it reassures me a lot, I thought that the struggles I had with them were my fault as a noob. Loving the video style, hoping it will add to my own confidence and curiosity for exploration. ~ I'm only 3 days in, on Front rockered Flying Eagle F5S eclipse inlines.

I was trying to figure out how to do backward crossovers, and just started doing transitions nonstop, it felt so good to improve on that. Your style is smooth and good bro. keep up the content. Someone posted about me picking up bags of litter every day while i skate, I finally made it lol. It’s hard not to piss people off sometimes, but it’s the. Let fun I’ve ever had. I wonder if your skill level goes up when you get a really tight fit and downsize. I don’t think it’s worth the risk of causing pain. Loving my fr’s with intuitions. Best investment I ever made.

Get your hip pads on you Youngin. I’m over 35. Skated with a sling last summer and fell on my hip so hard and my arm. I took four months of this winter because of ankle pain, now I’m perfecting my power slide, and working on my magic. I should really practice more slalom too. Can you do a tutorial on how to do a cool transitions and certain tricks?

Wow, that was impressive! I checked out the park under the bridge, but didn't get on the trail much because I wasn't sure how rocky or hilly it would be later. My favorite skate trail is the Santa Monica bike trail because it's easy and there aren't any cars.

Skating Squid Santa Monica, CA. It’s tough finding flat, smooth places to skate in the DMV! It’s so much easier by the beach on the West Coast. I’ve been watching @disht6 on IG. Her videos are great.

Skating Squid Oh yeah, will check out the Vegas ones! I've never tried to skate there because it's usually too hot. Your skating rink reviews are really useful. Maybe you could do the Skate 'N Fun Zone in Manassas, VA. I go to their Adult Night, though I probably won't anymore because their music sucks. It's a clean, modern rink though.

Thanks will! The microphone set up I use is extremely complex. I actually have a video soon which showcases all my gear but it’ll be a week or so before it’s out. Short answer, I use the sennheiser g4 lav set which plugs into my tascam dr-40 field recorder. After I’m done I have to sync the audio together 😁 I do video production for a living so my set it is extremely overkill 😆

I’m a beginner but I went against most advice and bought some FR1 x 310. Do you know anyone who started on bigger wheels and were fine? Do you have any tips for beginners who want to start with triskates? Also love this style of video, not too many like it. New to the channel but love the content already

Commotion That’s awesome you got a pair and thank you I really appreciate that! I think it’s completely fine to start on tri skates if you think you’ll like it more. With anything it’ll just take time to get to a point where you feel comfortable. With the tri skates it might be a little more of a difficult learning curve but with persistence and consistency you will learn in no time! Some things to look out for is: 1. They are slightly harder to balance and land jumps since you are higher off the ground. 2. Slalom style skating is not as fluid and harder. 3. Falling hurts a little more cause it’s higher 😂

@@Skating_Squid Hey Squid! Thought i'd share an update on my skating progress and ask about yours! I have become really comfortable skating with the 110's and have gotten crossovers and a few other skills down as well. Stopping has been a hard thing to pick up since it is hard to balance on one foot with he 110's. I did however just recently purchase some endlessblading frames 4x90 and I think I will really progress with four wheels when it comes to my edges, maneuvering, and stopping! The rocketed frame should help a lot as well. I am just waiting on my new wheels to come in to give them a try!

Commotion ayeee that’s great to hear! I’ve heard a lot of good things about those endless frames so they should fit well for your style! I’ve just been doing the same old 4x80 haha and making as much good skate content as possible. Brianna Ariel haha no worries and I wish I had a better answer I really just kinda skate and things happen 😭😭 the backwards to forward move I kinda transition and just land on one foot then smoothly bring my other leg around. It’s honestly just trying to be fluid more than anything which gives it the unique look
