Visiting the famous Tirta Empul Water Temple. Located in the regional areas of Ubud, The Tirta Emul Temple is an activity that should be added to you itinerary if you are staying within Ubud or anywhere close to Ubud. One of the busiest water temples in Indonesia, Tirta Empul is a temple considered sacred by Balinese Hindu community. Travelers from around the globe flock to its holy waters to bathe beside Balinese pilgrims; accept blessings from healers, priests, and shamans; or simply soak up the atmosphere. My partner and I had the opportunity to participate in the bathing ritual and it was an experience. It may look like a simple and not so excited to many but their is religious purpose when participating in the activity. The temple has several holy springs which are said to have been created by The God Indra and believed to be blessed water that could purify those who bathe there.
