Cool trail. I live in Missouri as well and i can agree that its hard to find trails. Do you have any tips or locations you could share to help myself and others find places to go out and explore?
Agreed! I'm just getting back into it after many, many years and I'm having a difficult time finding places to explore. I tried to go back to some of the trails from my youth but realized that most of them are illegal. I guess I never never noticed (or cared) back then. It's shocking to me how little open public land we have in MO compared to other states.
@Privacy Setting If any of you have Gaia i can share routes ive taken through sections of mark twain national forest. Ive found in missouri the farther south you go the more you find. Im out of st louis. Also lost creek road area around herman is good.
@Privacy Setting gaia is a map app you can get on pretty much any device it's super helpful especially with national forest roads which I have found in are state are pretty much your best bet without going to a offroad park like flat nasty. I prefer overlanding and camping. As of right now a few friends and I just like to go out and explore the wkend of the 31st we plan on a trip to eleven point section of mark twain. You might want to check out the glade top trail (just google it) it has a ton of off shoots to explore off the main route. You can also get forestry maps from the forest service with roads like you see in these videos.
I explored the current river conservation area between Eminence and Ellington last weekend.....I was in my wife sienna van needless to say the front valance is not what it used to be...LOL I I will have to go back in my suburban and look a little longer.
