New Hampshire in the fall is covered in bright leaves, mountain towns, & of course, crowds. Nonetheless, we wish we could have spent more time in the White Mountains. Starting in Franconia Notch State Park, Artist’s Bluff Trail was a quick & steep overlook to get to. The view was incredible, but the crowd was a little overwhelming. Our next stop was the highest peak in the northeast: Mt. Washington. There are 3 ways to get to the top: hike up 8 miles, take a train, or drive yourself on the Mt. Washington Auto Road, which is what we did. While the price was high, we think it was well worth it. The drive was insane with drop offs and endless mountain views. The crips, fresh, mountain air felt amazing as you ascended into the clouds. The top of the mountain is an experience in itself, too!
The rest of the day consisted of finding food in North Conway and driving the Kancamagus Highway, which is a popular drive famous for bright leaves in the fall and many pull overs with hiking trails and scenic views.
