My Dad and I visited this in I believe '80. It was during the week and it was completely dead, the tour guides were bored silly, so they gave us a Lot more tour than they were supposed to, and got us lost. We spent Hours wandering around, poking our noses into places we really weren't supposed to go, places the tour guides weren't supposed to go. My dad blew through something like 85 rolls of film. It was beautiful.
i always heard she thought she would die when the house was "finished", so she kept it in a perpetual state of incompletion. that was the story many many years ago. of course, who knows if any of them are true?
When i visited the house in the mid 90’s, those were some things i heard also. I remember seeing 13 objects scattered throughout the house. The 13 could just be a coincidence because in a house that large, certain numbers will pop up a few times. I remember hearing during the tour that the night she died she had stayed in the same room twice. How much was fabricated and how much was real is unknown but it made for a spooky tour.
Came here after watching the Winchester trailer, if I'm not careful I'm going to end up in that weird part of youtube. Must.not.look.at.suggested.videos!
I toured this with my family about thirty years ago I had an out of body experience while we were waiting for the tour to begin it is utterly fascinating work to behold
This house is absolutely incredible! I believe she did something no man has ever done! It's really cool how she kept building on&on&on! Only she knew the true mystery that this home holds. It is truly fascinating and I'd love to live there! 👻🖤👻🖤👻🖤
I visited the mystery house in 2009, it's weird that I don't remember much about it at all. Well, except cracking my head on the door frame while entering the seance room. Maybe that's why I don't remember anything.
Visited this house last August on my way back down from seeing the eclipse in Oregon. This house is amazing! Not just the history that's awesome, but the construction as well. The Explore More Tour which my family were lucky to get our own private tour was one of the best tours I ever been on. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!!
Beautiful! This house is so strange, I love it! Though, earlier today, I was looking at houses with my Grandparents and mom. We looked at 4 houses, and the 4th house, gave me, My mom, and Grandma weird vibes. As soon as we walked in, we all felt like there was evil spirits in the house. When I was checking out one of the bathrooms, everyone else was in the hall and all of the sudden the light just turned off, and they couldn't turn it back on. Oh yeah!! I forgot to mention, when we walked in, EVERY single light in the house was already on. I had bad anxiety and I was almost too afraid to open any doors because I felt like something was on the other side waiting for me. Creepy house, weird vibes. Seriously. I never want to go there ever again in my life, no one should experience that feeling. My grandma mentioned that the house was like the Winchester house. I got curious and decided to look up history behind the house. Anyway, that house was not good and I hated it. Never want to go back there in my life, and it was extremely creepy. That house was 100% haunted. If my Grandparents had moved in there, I guarantee that they wouldn't be there long and all the animals would probably be spooked 24/7. If I spent the night there, I wouldn't even be able to sleep. My mom and Grandma were talking about how the house was like a twilight zone, like, once they stepped in they were in a completely different word, time zone, universe! It was freaky. My mom also added on how she felt like when she were to step out 2 minutes later, It would've been hours later. That's how weird the house is. If that makes sense.. There's no words to explain how weird the house was! This comment was too long, sorry. Thank you for reading it. -Julia
Julia's Comfy Corner You should read the REAL story behind this mansion. Winchester was a freemason occultist. She built this house reflecting the views of how it will look in spiritual dimensions. The doors that open to no where dont make sense in our world, but it does in spiritual demensions. This mansion has many spirits
You have to tell your realtor what percentage a house is haunted is unacceptable to you. Otherwise, they're not obligated to notify you of the percentage.
I was in this house back around 1998(ish). And I can honestly say that, I have never been more comfortable in any building in my entire life. It's hard to put it into words..... but as I explored the house. It was though I (I felt) I had been there before. I seem to have known much more about the house than the tour guide did? Several times during the tour, I had such strong urges to correct our guide. Please keep in mind that I have never been there before, nor had I ever even heard of the house prior to the day of the tour. But I seemed to know every square inch of the building. I mean right down to the exact construction of the Dumb Waiters. I know it seems as though I'm rambling, But I often dream of the construction workers explaining to me exactly as to how they had gotten hurt while on the job. And what kind of medical treatments they received. I know it sounds weird, but I simply just cant explain it. Regards, H's C.
I think you have a connection with it.You should (if you really want to know what happend there) search more about her and your family.Maybe they have a past relationship?I really don't know. -sorry for my bad english-
My first visit to the house was years ago in May, 2006. May, 2022. We brought some friends and family on Friday the 13th. Daytime and 8:30 flashlight tour.. I've been to a lot of haunted locations. Westword Hotel, Phoenix. Sanitarium , Jerome Arizona. Whaley House, San Diego. We had a Spirit Box and an EMF detector. To many locations to list, in Hilo , Big Island, Hawaii. Post office and several other locations on Oahu , Hawaii. There is some serious bad juju there .. Sorry.. to disappoint. The Winchester house is relatively clean. The spirits that continue to roam Sarah Winchester's mansion. Are benign, friendly, possibly mischievous.. Of all the haunted locations I've ever been to. I would have no issue staying the night by myself here.. (challenge accepted if you can cover my financial costs). It is a must-visit. This Old House is gorgeous. I'm in love with the architecture and woodwork. Everything used in this house was the best of the best. Wallpapers and Crown moldings are beautiful. The banisters and floors are done with such fine detail. As far as the doors and stairs and windows to nowhere... This was an Eclectic home built room by room. Not governed by a traditional OSHA regulations. So sometimes yes you can open a door and it leads to a wall. That wall is simply part of another room they just didn't remove the door or window. Stairs to nowhere.. the fourth story collapsed after the earthquake in the 1900s. Hence the stairs going to the ceiling. They led to the upper levels. I've always wanted to go see this house and I finally visited It in the summer of 2015. I loved it and encourage everyone to go see it. There is going to be a movie about it in early 2018 staring Helen Mirin.
It’s a shame Sarah was portrayed as a mad woman and obsessed with the undead. She was highly intelligent philanthropist with an amazing architectural interest which shows in the ideas and features she brought to life. She cared and looked after her family and staff, generous and donated to animal charities and hospitals. I would love to visit this home , not for the hauntings which I believe don’t exist in this home but to appreciate a brilliant mind . Her staff and family said she was in no way superstitious, shame the house is advertised for its hauntings when it should be advertised for its extreme architecture from many nations including the gardens , but if this keeps the house open to visitors and makes it a viable business then that’s only a good thing . Sarah must have been an impressive lady
I live in England where there are massive Regency mansions, palaces, castles, ect to go visit. In some ways once you have seen one you have seen them all, but this house is unique. To my knowledge there is nothing else like it in the world. I hope I get the chance to see it for myself one day.
Tbh I remember seeing this years before the movie came out....the Travel Channel use to host a lot of ghost shows and as a kid I remember seeing this back in the early 2000's . I forgot it was called the winchester tho.
I just visited, the house was closed for the day, from the outside I recorded and in one of the windows, I saw a strong reflection flashing colors on the outside, I took video and pictures, showed them to my husband and kids they were waiting in the car, they didn’t care to see them at the moment. Driving off? Hours later I was going thru the pictures and videos, I saw that the reflection on the window is a Code? Map? Clearly shows something and in the window inside a Dark figure shadow of what looks like Sarah ? I can’t understand it, if anyone can please HELP. I felt a strong energy and know this is something, that wants to be showed? I posted a few videos on here and on TikTok and all my social media, I hope I can have someone Help me, It’s Crazy and scary. WHAT IF ITS SARAH SPIRIT SHOWING ME A MAP? PLEASE HELP if you can 🙏🏼
The tour is very rushed. You can spend a half day there like she said, but it'll be outside of the winchester. I made a video with better detail of the inside. Check it out. You really need to experience it in real life to appreciate it and it's true beauty.
because it was just build build build! when i took the tour over a year ago I asked about the fire sprinklers, inquiring if they were part of the original build. the tour guide informed me that it wasn't and it took over a year for the fire department to map out and install them. (because there was no floor-plan/blue prints)
Iv been here but I'm back n Australia I went to America for a holiday and went here I loved it I wanted to go back and it was creepy inside and I'm only 8 and on the tour I went in the room with a picture with all people it was creepy I wasn't alone I was with my mum brothers and my mums friend and my mums friends sun I loved the tour and I might go back to America
Bear Burton You should visit other places beyond California, the US is huge and has diverse types of ecosystems, we have snowy tundra, rainforests, coral reefs, a pretty large desert, lots of forests, rock features, and more.
I think you may have caught more than you bargained for. Look at 1:11, the statue turns its head when you pan across. It goes from looking straight to left! Anyone else see that?
Came here after watching the scary netflix movie. Didnt even know it was based off of something real until the end of the movie when it showed a old picture of who I assume to Sarah. And said that it's in North America. I was shocked
ah good old 2016 those were the days now the Winchester house looks like another physics of perception entirely in 2022 ive posted a lot about it my entire internet life thank you for posting
@@alireardon6664 :) I believe in ghosts as the effects the physical effects of the physics of perception: if a brick flies at your head the brick is conscious, and if you do not believe that & duck & let it roll behind you and not hit your head it will hit your head So how does belief of knowing what a brick can do to you form and what kind of cognitive model do you have to have in order to be so efficient at that that everything entangles allowing for symmetry & asymmetry to be closed as a spectral gap so that nothing collides in the first place requiring all these ghost objects that go off & kill us How do you solve your own murder?
I'm going too this house in October and my dad and my mom thinks ghost aren't real. My sister does I just think that they are real but I also think it could very well be our mind but mostly I think ghost are real.
