Good times in the woods. I like those solo stoves. I used on in the video I posted today too! Mine accommodates a larger stick than yours though.

The whole tree stand part I'm like he's not really going to do it but yep there you go. I like this take on easy trail cooking. Probably easy to clean just throw some hot water back in and shake. Good video and idea.

lol. I was trying not to break my neck. I wish I could've gotten in that tree house. too much water and not enough cooking time. I'll have to work on the thermos thing.

That tree stand has been out there a long time. It's been cutting into that trunk for years.
@BURNWOODBUSHCRAFT
@BURNWOODBUSHCRAFT 5 лет назад
yeah it looked old. they used the hole in the tree to put supports in. would have been cool to get in there but I was kinda sketchy.

Thermos cooking with burnwood, has a nice ring to it ☺️ I'm thinking a bushcraft project, rebuilding the deer stand into a tree house? Rice and beans, great staple of food for sure Brother 😊🍅

You were braver than me trying to climb that ladder. I'm kinda surprised that more people don't try thermos cooking. With the new age Yeti types, water stays hot for a very long time.
@BURNWOODBUSHCRAFT

great point man! not sure many know much about it. especially if it comes to surviving or things go bat sh@t crazy. thank you for the watch and comment.

@@BURNWOODBUSHCRAFT, there is a new fad for cooking called sous vide. It actually an old concept but has gotten very popular with the "Foodies" It more or less cooking food in a plastic bag in water that is a constant temp. And the food turns out amazingly good. You want the water just below boiling. There's a whole art to it, and special gadgets you can buy that do it. I've done some research into sous vide and thermos cooking awhile back, wanting to try a video someday soon. I want to try making an omelet and with angle hair pasta. It's an easy way to cook a meal while hiking. You can make your breakfast and lunch/dinner at the same time. Boil up the water, dump it in your thermos and you food should be ready by the time you need it.

LOL yeah the ladder and that tree cabin hunting stand didnt look safe at all. The floor was probably too swelled up to let the door open up. Awesome idea of using the thermos to cook in !
@BURNWOODBUSHCRAFT

haha yeah that tree stand was not safe at all. worth a look tho. thermos cooking works well if you do it properly and wait it out.

that pack is the large assault pack sold by Varusteleka.com. They are the largest military surplus store in Europe based in Finland. The pack is a collaboration with Savotta which has been making quality gear for years.

Yes but this way it is a slower cook and I can store leftovers for later without my pot being dirty

That is a Rothco Vintage boonies hat. I cut the annoying strap off. You can find it on Amazon. The vintage is a smaller brim and not as floppy as others

The Solo stove is not a Bush Buddy. It is a poor quality copy made in China. The Bush Buddy is made in America and is the original stove of this design. I have owned one for a couple of years and it is quality made.
