Spurs fan here, lived in Mansfield for two years.....was at the Mansfield v Tottenham 3 -3 draw ...it was played in a deluge, the pitch was mud....this was a 2nd Div match played on the 25th March 1978....
As a Mansfield Fan, nice to see you visit our club. The training pitches there are not used by the main team, but not 100% sure on the youngsters, but the main team uses the RH Adacmey training grounds
The away team bus parks near the club shop the away fans park at the back of the North stand the Ian Greaves stand is called the Weat Stand the club shop is open from 10am till 5pm Monday to Friday and open on Saturday home games till 3pm and to get to the worst stand the Bishop street stand you have to walk up Bishop street itself
As well as the old training pitch you pointed out opposite the Ian Greaves Stand ( formerly known as the west stand ) we do have a state of the art training complex just outside Mansfield town centre ! Where the first team and youth academy players train ! And Sandy Pates isn't a cafe it's a proper sports bar with Tvs for watching live games, good food/drink and a great atmosphere on Match days for fans of both teams ! ( Named after one of our legendary players Sandy Pate ! ) Thanks for highlighting our club( currently leaders in league 2 ) ! Tony ( season ticket holder in the Ian Greaves Stand with my son Liam )
You Stags! Excellent video. The side opposite the big main stand is the Bishop St Stand which is unused nowadays and the club have trouble redeveloping due to housing right behind it. I did the 92 back in the mid eighties and it's great to see how the new grounds, which I haven't been able to do, look like .
Thanks for visiting enjoyed your vlog . The Mill pond where you walked past is from the original cotton mill that was there , the mill workers used to play cricket & football on the field opposite as far back as 1850 hence Field Mill.
I’ve visited in my quest of doing the 92. Quite a nice viewing experience, albeit one side of the pitch is rather odd. And they now (sadly) don’t sell programmes like an increasing number of clubs.
FYI. stags actually train at a state of the art facility in a place called Pleasley about 4 miles from the ground the artificial pitch is a public used pitch. enjoyed yr vlog
Love you videos Ry , I’m a Liverpool Fan 🔴, but I love to know about other Football Clubs History and their Stadium. Big thumbs up 👍👍on Mansfield Town FC never knew about 1861 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Yes Ry, I discovered your channel about a month ago so I have already seen your tour that you did of Anfield Stadium. And yes I know that you’re a main United fan 🤪🤪. But your also a Football Fan so keep up the good work on the letter known clubs.👍🌟
Despite the signage, the stags don't train on the field next to the stadium. They have a relatively new academy about 5 miles away. Also, the colours of Mansfield are Royal Blue and Amber.
Goodison Park (EVERTON) was the first purpose-built association football stadium in the world. Walton-based building firm Kelly brothers were instructed to erect two uncovered stands that could each accommodate 4,000 spectators. A third covered stand accommodating 3,000 spectators was also requested
The training ground is the Radford and Hymas Academy in Pleasley, not the pitches behind the West Stand. The RH is genuinely one of the best training facilities in the lower leagues and bears the name of two of the club's directors. My girl plays there with the U10s and it's great that they share the same facilities and cafeteria as the first team. We regularly see players down there and chat to them.
Another interesting video. I know Eastnor Deer Park, my Sister lives round that way. We meet up to take her dog for a walk. You'll have to do a 360 Tour of Eastnor Castle. Used to go to Ledbury Swimming Pool with Primary School. Been to Ledbury Town FC's ground twice. One match a pre season friendly against Gloucester City. Used to take my Mum to Car Boots at Ledbury on Sunday mornings. Went to the Full Pitcher Pub afterwards, for lunch. Sorry Ry, going Way Off Topic.
Old Mansfield boy here, living in Brighton, ive played on Field Mill Twice, before the rebuild. Noticed the sign for Sandy's bar, im presuming thats Sandy Pate, ex player, I knew his son Alex.......anyway, enough rattling from me, great Video & equally great to see the old place again
Great Video Ry! What a lovely little Ground. What a shame that the world’s oldest Professional Ground is now known by a sponsored name. We need to protect heritage and not sell it off. I think you’d like The Den, home of Millwall that’s corner heaven for you and The Valley home of Charlton Athletic which has traditional housing opposite and you can park outside the ground for free on non Match days. Keep them coming mate.
@@RysFootyParadise Hey Ry! Both Millwall and Charlton are in South London and about 5 miles apart. But travelling in London takes forever. The Valley is in the same area as The Thames Flood Barrier and The 02. It’s also not very far from The remnants of Woolwich Arsenal’s Invicta Ground. But please Google that as that area has has a huge redevelopment of the last 7/8 years.
stags fan here, the pitch behind the stadium was our old training ground (planing on turning it into an indoor sports centre) but now we have moved over to pleasley called the RH academy. the bus you saw isn’t our team bus either we do have a better one than that 😂
So, you trying to visit every EFL team on top of your Premier League project? What’s your next challenge? Doing Lands End to John O’Groats via as many football grounds on the way? 😂
THE LANE will always be the 1st oldest Pro Football stadium ever built! It was the Wembley of the North that hosted the oldest Finals of Professional game ! Which was? 😮
Let’s be honest back in the day it was only Villa park and Hillsborough Stadium who always had all the semi finals Bramhall lane is the old Sheffield Wednesday ground they played there and was also none as the Blades before SUFC was even invented! Sheffield fc oldest club in the world Sheffield Wednesday fc Hillsborough
When you going to do a video of Edgar Street? You can't do a video of Cheltenham Town and Forrest Green and not do one of Hereford I'd be more than happy to be your cameramen 😂
I went to the Torquay game a few weeks back but never edited up the footage 😅 was hoping to do like a mini documentary style video so if you fancied getting involved give me a shout on Instagram mate 😉
If I had Instagram I would 😂😂 but would love to get involved with some things mate. Can reminisce the chalkie White days of Hereford. I wish I still had my old United kits from sun valley days
