As an Angeleno, I find this fascinating. I had no idea these tunnels/stations existed! Thank you for your bravery in exploring them and letting us see their haunting, deteriorated beauty. Shades of an earlier era....
Downtown LA is an exciting place to explore I remember in the late 90's my brother worked security at the Broadway trade center on 8th & Broadway. It was the old May Co. Building we discovered it had a roof top penthouse and at one point some of the building used to serve as a hospital. It was very cool and in some way creepy
i use to do valet parking at The PE Lofts on Main St & 4th, i was real cool with the security guards in the lofts watching these videos make me regret not asking them to show me and of the underground tunnels which im sure the building had plenty entrances since the parking would go down about 2 floor below street level ;(
This place is cool. I love the old station area. Been down there to clean it up before the shot scenes to the Netflix series Lucifer. I love urban exploration.
The first bankers had all the DTLA buildings connected by Rail underground , Santa Fe lofts has a marble staircase that turns to dirt a few floors down (not accessible to public but the door is next to the security desk) not sure how far down it goes but I made it to 6deep before I got scared , so dark and creepy with wind blowing somehow , there's way more tunnels guy keep digging . There's also an underground river that flows right under downtown
Was hitting the bong and got freaked out for a bit....why nobody squatting down there is a GD miracle...many clues to past construction, art deco room tight AF,thanx- Geronimo
Pretty cool, the graffiti down there use to be a pryer, lies, and wisk at the end of the tunnel before it got painted over, assuming wisk is who you were told was the famous graffiti artist, was there for quite some time, awesome find
@@Urbex_OfflimitsI’ll have to check it out, I’d be impressed if you can get into the other section of the tunnel, I’ve been trying to access that end for some time now lol
I do not give out info on locations if there's something you want to see, do your research, find it, and go find a way in. If this info was public, these places would get trashed, looted, and destroyed.
i was close to the entrance earlier today, i heard the entrance is in this closed off parking garage for some apartments called "metro 417". i would love to know how to get in
People like this want to elude that there is some secret way to get down there. There is not. They may have been years ago, but not anymore. I Just spent the past couple days down at that building and trying to get in and it’s just not gonna happen without permission or guided tour.
People like who? I understand your frustration. It took me years to find my way in the first time. It's not a secret. It's just about knowing where to look and a little luck. After exploring the tunnels, maze of rooms and hallways, and all the holes in the walls, I found a second way in and out.
We don’t have a massive subway system like New York, and there’s only a couple stations in downtown. The subway tunnels in LA are more to keep the trains off the street then to be a true metro system, but yeah the red and purple lines of LA metro go to a few places in DTLA then out to Hollywood and Koreatown. This station was for the now defunct pacific electric railroad, which was more like an Interurban then a true subway. This tunnel was built under Hill and Flower streets to keep the PE trains off the street (they previously ran east to west on tracks on the middle of flower street) and the trains were bound for suburbs and not really a rapid transit system like a subway.
I see others complain about you not releasing info on how to get down there but i respect how you respect the locations by not letting all the looters get in and destroy it all
100%! True urbexers do not give out information to places like this to strangers. It's an explorer code. If you tell one stranger, then they tell two people and so on. And it's guaranteed to get vandalized.
Most cities have tunnels underneath…. Check out shanghai tunnels too. Those ones are so sad regarding the history. When i lived in portland, i was always warned to stay away from certain areas of dt at night especially by myself… long story short i was dt for whatever reason by myself one night and passed a tunnel entrance… all i could hear was a woman screaming bloody murder for help. I was so scared i ran as fast as i could and called the cops. I will never forget that. My mom later told me it was probably a spirit calling out for help as we never heard anything on what happened or if someone was really down there being hurt. Never went dt by myself ever again after that..
The people that whine about not giving locations. Get off the couch in your moms basement and do some actual looking. There is enoygh info if you are smart enough to find it.
Worked at Sears back in 90’s…The tower had a history of ghostly happenings…experienced strange feeling and heard voices while going up to track down some inventory. Any experiences while filming Sears or any loc?
@@Urbex_Offlimits we “explored” Linda Vista Hospital not too far from Sears and man…disembodied voices, doors slamming, whispers and footsteps. Clear as day. Caught some voices in a recorder no one heard until we checked audio later
@standingstrong4761 unfortunately I missed Linda Vista but yeah I heard it was one of the most scary places there was, more than any in the area today.
Back in 2000 I was doing research on this tunnel. I made copies of books from the Library in Downtown LA. I also checked out a VHS tape were old footage some in color of the PE cars and also this tunnel. I went to the old subway terminal building where you are. I talked with security guard @ entrance and I explained to him what I was doing. He was nice enough to give me a quick tour. Upon turning on a stationary light in tunnel. The mouth of tunnel opened up and appeared. It was quite an experience. The part where you saw beds was part of the VA hospital after the PE cars service ended. Thanks for sharing this video
My friends and I are starting our own exploration channel and I would appreciate it if we could get in contact with you for locations, we’ve been trying to explore this specific spot for a very long time
What if we can restore the Subway and reopen it to the public as a piece of nostalgia with old school technology and old trains present? That would be awesome.
I remember hearing rumors of access to LAs catacombs via the globe theater when it was being used as an underground rave venue in the late 90s early 2000s. I wonder if this is what people were referring to or if was actual catacombs.
I still think L.A. should revive BOTH of its downtown train terminals as well as the Red and Yellow systems... Streetcars are the best way to reclaim streets from cars, trucks and buses and encourage more people to take transit again. You'll never win people over with the bumpy, jostling ride of rubber-tired vehicles...Steel on steel electric trains are best!
Preparation for some kind of triage area perhaps? I saw a doc that fema had been storing body bags and best under the Denver Airport. Most intriguing part
😸 Treats for Bandit maybe. So cool, one of your best and I think I haven't seen it all. I was kinda expecting someone in authority to give you a hard way. Maybe do a revisit one day and show us the rest. 🤠👍👍👍
Hospital bed?? Seemingly new as in they were recently put there. Rope equipment, seems like someone or group of people are setting up for shelter,,,possible trafficking site and holding ??
Many years ago I worked in a building across the street from this location. I did some research about the station location. I found out that for a while the City of LA would use the station and connecting tunnel as a storage/ impound lot. I also learned the one of the tunnels ran to Glendale from the DTLA location.
I worked in la yrs ago and would go down below the old Broadway building down to 6th sub basement the called it the red car subways and its was said it one time went to San demas and San Diego ....
I've been in that tunnel, but on the other side of where it's blocked at the end. It used to be easily accessible, but they've blocked it off since I was there.
@@Urbex_Offlimitsin east Los Angeles. around Whittier Blvd. there's still one left on Fetterly Ave or street. on the corner with Whittier Blvd by the alley. the north side of the intersection. it has holes on it. the warm air used to come out when I was little back in the 1960's. I'm now 65 years old.
@@Urbex_Offlimits and on the corner of Whittier Blvd and Arizona streets, there's some old doors on the sidewalk. the north side of the intersection also by the alley. I had a neighbor a few years ago who claimed to know how to get into the tunnels but he didn't specify where the location was.
