I love how charming and friendly these people are, shizuka also did a really great job. I wish i could go there with shizuka and all that warming people.✨
I love you getting the local puds involved in this. it's a lovely way for a timid traveler to see what he may find, new friends, hopefully, translation apps make it seamless.
So good! I watched the collaboration with you and Sonny a while back and loved it. So I’m stoked to have found your channel. This was a great episode. You’re very easy to like with you open friendliness! Yamagata looks exactly like a place I’d love to visit. Looking forward to more vids. I’ve subscribed. Rob, Tasmania, Australia
Always good to see you enjoying yourself shizuka, really loved the alley way at Hottonaru yokocho, just so beautiful with its visual history, the taxi driver was so fun to watch also, definitely someone i would enjoy having a beer with 8).
Loved this visit to Yamagata! I love konyaku but mostly enjoyed your yokocho outing. I have Yamagata on my list of places to visit on my return trip to Japan. Awesome video! Thank you for sharing this with us.
The taxi lady is adorable....a natural infront of the camera... like a character from Tokyo Stories Midnight Diner..this was a fun video with all the locals
idk if is true or not, but a friend told me that, one of the reason why japanese pplz have narrow face and jaw is due to their eating habit of eating non-hard foods. most of their foods dont require intense chewing.
@@2darkdragon Not ALL thanks to Sonny. A person can hold the door open for you, but it's up to you to walk through it. Shizuka didn't just walk through it, she sprinted. Sure Sonny gave her some exposure but if it wasn't for her intelligence, skills, and appeal it wouldn't have mattered.
@@giantrotatingcarrot Thank you so much for saying that! 😊 I had been hosting for TV and RU-vid before I met Sonny, which is actually why he reached out to me! 😆 I am definitely thankful for the exposure he gave me though which made it possible to start the Japan by Food channel! 🙏🏼❤️ Thanks again for watching and supporting ☺️
Tohoku is so underrated. Everyone always goes to Tokyo but northern Japan is too gorgeous and most people are super nice. At least in the places I've lived (Iwate and Aomori)
This is exactly how I would spend a day visiting a place I've never been. Hiking in the morning, great food, and descending into a blurry fun-filled time.
I visited Yamagata a few times but never been in Yamadera area. That's such an amazing location. Well I guess every little square in Japan is a unique world itself. 👏
Today's was AMAZING as expected, Shizuka-san is full of joy and never fails to put on a smile on our faces! She's the best 😆✨👍🏻. Love Japan By Food and it's so wonderful that you guy's are getting more and more subscribe's very fast! Enjoyed watching you're video's so much, thank you so much for making our day. Hope everyone stays safe and take care, God bless 🙏🏻 ❤️
Everyone was having a blast! The customers and staff both were eager to mix in English for us so it’s a great place to visit even if you don’t speak Japanese! 😊
I'm going to be in Yamagata in April and it turns out I'm staying a short walk away from Hottonaru Yokocho! This was a great vid, definitely gonna take a visit there now!
I went to Zao onsen in Yamagata on a whim several years ago, totally didn't realize how rural it was--it felt like I was the only foreigner there! Very charming little town with fantastic beef and konyaku. Next time I'd like to actually visit Yamagata city!
Even as a very reserve society and culture, Japanese can become very friendly and joyful when its come down to drinking! Salute and Banzai to lady taxi driver. I'll drink with her when I visit there!
Thank you so much for introducing Yamagata Cty with interesting video. I recommend foreign travelers to visit Yamagata City so that their staying in Japan would be more enjoyable.
Been to Yamadera twice, both times during the winter. Incredibly difficult (and slightly perilous) to walk the 1000 steps to the top. But it's totally worth it. As it's like walking through a winter wonderland and the views from the top, of the snow covered mountains, valley and town below, is simply breathtaking!
@@JapanbyFood this has been the best food review channel, it’s sad the most popular ones are not as good as this, I hope for your success, I can’t stop sharing your channel, it’s beautiful and very full of tradition
