In our company we used the following trick to see all elements at once (existing+demolished+new) in one ifc: you need to link the main project with the building to an empty project with the same phases, set the 3D view to see all phases and export to ifc from that empty project.

Thank you for your video! Do you have any ideas on how to export temporary elements? Unfortunately they do not export even if visible in the view. Since they were created in the phase New and the export settings is set to phase new, I would expect them to be exported. I would like to export all the temporary elements into a separate IFC file, but at the moment I didnt manage to do so.

Thanks for your comment! Unfortunately that’s not possible today, but I keep hearing this request, I hope it gets implemented in future versions!

Very nice video as always Lejla. Well, for the project purpose we are exporting what we are seeing on the view.We are using Bim Collab Zoom as collaboration platform. Everything demolished we are not exporting but we did tests by following...In active 3D view phase filter should be set to "Show all" or "none", phase is set to "New" and in ifc we gonna have everything from geometry. And then in Bim Collab you can filter the view with elements that you want to see....

That’s a smart approach and works great if you don’t need demolished elements - and of course as long you attach the phase information! I think there would be so much more to tell about this topic… :-)

I dont agree with 5:45 it doesnt depend on what you see in your 3d view at least RVT 21/22, but i think the rule is the same. I have in view Just one phases but with default export setting it export all the model not only the one phase. If you want to export from view you click it in Additional conent tab export only elements in view and then on the first tab of export settings (General) the phase window is gray and cant be modified.
