I'm wondering how no one noticed she literally clickbaited us on purpose. She used that type of title and stuff to show us what she means. So smart, keep up the great work Ann

Love your video title. Number (8) + adjective (viral) + keyword (video tricks) + promise (that will blow your mind) *insert clapping here* great way to actually use what you are talking about in the video. Love it.
@@susanabasera8256 You don't say girl to an adult you mostly say woman since girls are mostly the ones who are young like kids or teenagers. All though yes, she is very savage I have mad respect for her.
*RU-vid:* takes down videos with 5 seconds of copyright music on a channel with 2 subscribers *Also RU-vid:* sends 100s of Gold buttons to Content Farm channels that break their "guidelines"
@@Scarlett1243 I know, and I don’t like that. I wish the fake animal rescue videos didn’t get the views they do and RU-vid actually allowed more videos for animal awareness
This seriously needs to be addressed. Actual content creators are struggling with producing quality continent and getting views, when huge companies are abusing the system and making thousands of dollars on the way, not to mention endangering life's of others!
It sucks man. And happens everywhere with everything. Small businesses struggle while big corporations and companies thrive on subpar products and services
Don't click, it's the only way to starve the machine, scroll for something better, you can also block content farms from your feed one channel @ a time, if you have the patience.
I don't want to burst anyone's bubbles or upset anyone but here's the harsh reality, they get millions of views aka LOTS OF MONEY so youtube get a lot of money as well so they do jack shet about it until it affects their wallet.
OK, so I have a few rules of my own that I tend to use when I use RU-vid. 1. Make use of the three-dot icon on the side of each video title. If you have seen the video before (whether the video suggestion shows it or not), click “Not Interested” and click “Tell Us Why” and check the “I’ve already seen this video”. 2. Similarly, if the suggested video looks as if it is spam or contains content that keeps being sent to your suggestions, consider using the same menu but click “Don’t Recommend This Channel”. 3. Just because the channel asks you to “Like and Subscribe”, don’t just do it. The ultimate decision on if you like a video lies with you as does the subscription. “I didn’t forget to like and subscribe, I just didn’t do it.” 4. Remember that you have a pause button available to you and that you can always click away. If a video spends too much time advertising at the end, pause and click away. Channels that use mid-roll ads often end up on my “Don’t Recommend” list. Just because these channels need the money, it does not mean that they should compromise the content just so they can promote something. 5. If you get fooled by clickbait once, chances are that the channel in question is likely to make a habit of it. That’s another good use of the “Don’t Recommend” selection. I could go on, but that should be enough for now.
I feel like the only way to stop this is for MCNs to act like unions and take strike action to demand change. RU-vid clearly only listens to the money.
This has been so useful and informative, and I especially love that she makes a point to refer her viewers to useful resources such as the viral content book. This platform does not deserve Ann.
On the toothpaste fixing broken glass one, it amazes me that apparently they got away with having a photo of broken glass on their phone screen instead of actually breaking the glass.
This is super frustrating but can we take a moment to appreciate the first content farm? I mean being able to trick millions of people into watching the same videos over and over again is pretty impressive, even if it's lazy and often legitimately dangerous. There's a lot of science that goes into this.
@@AmandaBoysenberry doesnt matter. I mean, their reputation is shit, but yet these content farms still get millions of views. They won't take action until youtube starts to lose money
I feel the same way. I feel tricked when I´ve been waiting for the thing in the thumbnail to show up, and it´s not even mentioned! Those darn clickbaits,,,!
This is the second video I watched on your channel. I'm so impressed that I just posted this to Facebook and recommended your channel to my friends. And now I'm subscribed and looking forward to watching all your videos.
The second I feel like I’ve clicked on a “farm” I get off. I’ve watched you Ann enough to kinda figure out the pattern. I stick to the creators I like and are really helpful. Thanks for all your help
Your videos are always recommended to me and I always watch them. It was today I realised I hadn’t subscribed yet. You’re the kind of content creator that deserves the recognition. Thank you for your service! Subscribed :)
Karine V yeah, they seemed very off. At first because I want entirely focusing I just went well they seem like real people but once I actually payed attention that’s when I also figured out it was fake.
You should check out the lock picking lawyer. His shade makes you feel like he invited you to lunch and it took until after you left to realize he told you you're awful and stupid
You're the best Anne. I feel that more people need to hear what you have to say and I will be sharing this. RU-vid is definitely broken and is favoring big business over the small content creators that we really want to see
I love how you not only test the hack but also explain why it didn’t work and that you actually really care and put a lot of research these videos are so entertaining and amazing to watch !!
@@CriAleMar The Shutterstock one seems to be one they paid for. Or they photoshopped it...which is possible, since they added the EU flag to his collar.
Really interesting! Thanks for putting this together! I had started flagging these channels on „don’t show these channels to me“ because I was so annoyed by the titles of these Videos already (without even watching them). I mean not only the pictures of hacks that looked just silly like toothpaste to fix a phone screen, but als those saying: “you w I’ll not bake any different cake anymore”, or similar phrases… I see I didn’t miss anything..
I wish there was a way we could all support your efforts in stoping dangerous videos. I love all your content both the actual baking and when im clinical the debunking ones. 😅 please keep making great content i hopes humanity stops being sheep that keep watching such videos even though they have been fooled before. I do not understand that 😮 …. I bought your book recently and am exited to try it out! Lots of love 💕
I just got a message today that a *private* video from *2 years ago* with *zero views* that was a 30 second clip of lightning outside my house was "flagged for review" and given an age restriction. Let me repeat: a thirty second, two year old private video of a thunderstorm that nobody but me has seen, was flagged, restricted and after "thorough review" that decision was upheld. Meanwhile these assholes get 100 play buttons and RU-vid's like "hmm, is it weird that we're shipping a literal truckload of play buttons to the same building in Vietnam? Naaah, I'm sure it's fine." Fuck this shit website and everybody running it
Like how they strike people for "violence" due to a comedy clip of mascots "beating" someone in road rage, yet are perfectly fine with animal abuse that has been repeatedly reported?
After watching 3 of your videos I've decided I need to subscribe, which I just did! Thank you, you're doing an important service by debunking the creeps!
I have to say that this was one of the best, most informative videos I’ve seen that explains clickbait! Thank you so much for your amazing content! I was introduced to your channel by my teen and I almost didn’t watch because I didn’t think it would be this great! (No offense intended, I just don’t know enough about cooking to be super interested in food hack debunking lol which is what I thought the channel was at first 🤦🏻♀️😂) but after watching just one of your videos, I’m totally hooked now! And I now have an interest in the actual science of cooking! Lol the way you explain how different things work, makes the whole process more interesting to my brain! Lol so I thank you! Definitely a subscriber here! ❤️
You should make another channel called “How to Debunk That”, and then a crafting channel called “How to Do That” and then cross collab with yourself AND THEN ANN WILL RULE RU-vid

I learn so much everytime I watch your channel! From baking and the debunking thank you so much for all you do to kept us informed, safe and full of delicious treats!!! 🍰🧁🍥🎂
I always feel so bad for the actual cake makers, who spend days labouring over their beautiful cakes, only to have them stolen and used by these content farms. RU-vid should do something about this, but of course they won’t, with numbers like that.
I agree. I forget how expensive it is to bake all these cakes and with Covid and everything it's hard to share your baked goods with people and some of the food goes to waste.

I subscribed after this video for 2 reasons. 1, you did an also job getting the info and then explaining it. 2, you gave an honest creator a shout-out!
I remember I used to watch these all the time. I didn't realize they were content farms or that content farms even existed and it made me so angry that they never had the thing in the thumbnail or that some of them would be the same "recipes" on repeat
1) far too neat 2) notice how there is not on metal table or shelfs as many kitchens 3) I've myself been reporting these videos for the actual reasons in this video all the fans of rising and upcoming RU-vidrs should just keep doing it then they will go
Same, OP. Do you click on those kinds of videos? If not, maybe youtube has figured out it can't serve you adds on what you don't click. I used to get clickbait more often (it's rare now) my guess is it knows there are easier ways to get my eyeball money than to recommend clickbait.
I know one thing for sure: If there *is* a video showing the knife cutting into that heart cake, it's gonna have two entirely different cakes on the thumbnail.
I love watching these stupid hacks for entertainment purposes on Ann's channel because I know it won't go towards the content farms but still allows me to enjoy the ridiculousness of the "hacks" and bonus! supports one of the most genuine creators on this platform
RU-vid let these giants get too big so now it's like a dangerous surgery to remove a tumor, they're obviously content farms and very blatantly break those rules. Just got done watching all the Mark and Charlie business
1: SHE follows that "Clickbait" title cards she is bashing. 2: shes salty af, she isnt owed views because she went to college to be a chef, that's not how youtube works. Shes not an employee, shes a third party nobody putting her content on a site and collecting a check, the nerve of her for thinking shes owed a bigger check because she deems her videos are better because, and i cannon stress how many times she references "because I went to school for this" over and over. Shes jealous of their views but not mad enough to stop collecting her (now main) income from youtube by moving her content. Its ridiculous. i hope whatever bunk junk 2 cent site makes these videos copywrite her. Also. No anne. You absolutely did NOT create the chocolate/candy bowl. What a absolutely ridiculous, retded thing to say out loud. I have bowl moulds for candy/chocolate forming from the 60s. Just because you used a literally toxic balloon dosnt coin you anything.
Jordan Jay the difference is that her videos actually contain the content her title claims. The title says she's debunking videos, and that's what she did, there was no mention of her saying she is "owed a bigger check" or being "owed views". Mentioning her studies in college just shows that she's knowledgeable on the subject, not that she's better than anyone else. Also, I'm pretty sure she was just referencing the specific style of sugar bowls she made with balloons, not candy/chocolate bowls as a whole.
As soon as I saw the “chefs” I was like oh this is FAKE FAKE. Then I saw the improper english and knew it was another content farm from a country outside the USA despite being targeted there.
"Playing by the rules" means following all the RU-vid guidelines, including the super secret hidden guideline that says "unless it's making us a profit."
Ann, the thing that concerns me most about these content farms is that RU-vid removes REAL content creators and pushes the content farm videos with their advertising algorithms. How can we put a stop to these once and for all?
1.Take a picture of the ads showing on the content farms 2. Involve the companies of those ads and inform them that it's a content farm, so their ads are meaningless since it's not real people 3. Let the big companies bitchslap youtube back into action
Click on the three dots next to the thumbnail of any videos recommended to you and select "don't show me this content." It doesn't take long for the content farm videos to disappear. DO NOT watch the videos, for any reason. And make sure you turn off autoplay, especially on facebook; the 2 seconds it takes you to decide not to watch the whole video still counts as a hit. Encourage everyone you know to do the same, including the comment sections on debunking videos. All the people who are suggesting these videos to Ann are still helping the content farms.
Add E I'd also like to add that you can share the videos without clicking on the video from the three dot button thingy so if for whatever ungodly reason you need to share it you still don't have to contribute to their view counts
If they changed the rule for repetitious content, I’d hope they’d make some kind of exception for individual content creators uploading full vods on vod channels and edits on their other channel because that’s very common in the gaming community
@@AmardeepSingh-zy5ih If you can't make money by any other means than through unscrupulous exploitation of children and inattentive parents, then you are a failure. And an objectively horrible person.
Plus, youtube gives strikes to those creators when it's something super mild or inoffensive but then they let ACTUAL harmful videos on the platform. RU-vid setting their priorities right 👌
I think it’s because it’s kids watching this mostly. They don’t understand that they are getting clickbaited. When I was younger I definitely went down a content farm rabbit hole
woman.. you are a goddess. your classiness, the way you COMPLETELY disprove people and things with just your words, the way you give specific and needed evidence, you work hard on your research, and wrapping all of that up into a purdy bow is the fact that youre a genius baker and chef. i envy your brain
I would boycott RU-vid if it weren’t for creators like you. You and channels of integrity like yours are the only reason I continue to watch anything on RU-vid.
@Enderguin58 The youtuber she honestly didnt need to do the hacks. Yes she said in the title that she would, but talking about how these channels are content farms already tell us that the hacks are fake. The whole concept of these channel arent to inform but to just release videos and make money theres no real need to test.
@Enderguin58 The youtuber It's an example of the clickbait formula described at @12:19 (irony can be missed easily, especially by people new to the channel, so that was a gamble on her part). Her other videos *do* test the hacks.
Enderguin58 The youtuber Watch 12:15, she's proving a point lmao. Also she does expose some viral video tricks, such as the title formula she's using here.
Anne is such a kind and decent woman. She even takes care, not to say that we have been fooled by clickbait. So not only confirms my impression I got of every Australian I've met so far, being king and generous people. But she is an extraordinary person who deserves far more viewers and descriptions
Thank you for being a genuine content creator and even educating your viewers what disingenuous creators look like. I equate RU-vidrs like 5 Minute Crafts to garbage floating in the sea.
Channels like Mr. Cakes aren’t even content creators, every single thing they post is a compilation of stolen clips from other creators cause I can easily point out who made what. A lot of clips they show is from the scran line, taste made, Matt Addlard, Joey, a lot of Brazilian/foreign creators, etc. At least 5 mins crafts film their own content (at least from what I’ve seen, maybe they steal too).
Yeah its the same as etsy. That originally started as a site for independent creators of crafted items. There were and still are rules that say you can't outsource your work, it can't be factory made etc etc. A small independent creator got banned (and lost a lots of their income in the process) because their company consisted of 3 other people each involved in a different step of production of the garments which were made custom to people's orders. So not in bulk or anything. Etsy claimed that meant that they were factory made not hand crafted. Meanwhile, its become more common to just find cheap wholesale purchased identical items listed by lots of sellers with weird sounding names and poorly translated descriptions which try to claim that they make everything by hand. But they are not. But they end up making etsy a ton of money so etsy looks the other way. And when the small independent makers tried to bring this to etsy's attention, they got banned for "calling out" basically. It was so ridiculous! As a result, lots of the small independent makers have been forced off the platform as they can't compete with the mass produced crap in terms of price or quantity. The whole reason they started selling on etsy was to get away from that on ebay, but it just followed across. Many makers gave up trying to run a business at all, some have websites but since they have to manage them themselves now with less ease of use they tend not to use them in quite the same way they once did. They've seen a reduction in income too.
KattriellaDoesStuff the problem is they can make the platform as shitty as they want because where else are you going to go if you want to make money and have a huge audience? Twitch is the closest thing but it’s not really cutting into RU-vid’s revenue.
Alexa Faie That’s so messed up!!! But then again is anyone surprised that capitalism doesn’t care about small individual creators with minuscule portions of the market 🙄. The system that allows one person to be worth $200billion is BROKEN and doesn’t work for smaller people.
