Long time ADJ employee here: The reason you'll see a lot of older ADJ lights now under the Eliminator brand is because that's what we're doing. We have moved all of the lower tiered "DJ" type top sellers or something that is a good seller, but not exactly in line with ADJ's new PRO fixture class and moved them to the Eliminator brand. The ADJ advantage points is the MAP price, you'll def pay MUCH lower by finding and working with a ADJ dealer. Anyone paying 800 for a Stryker Wash just isn't looking in the right places or asking the right people for deals. Lastly, there's so much that also goes into even the most basic of lights that we CHOOSE to do for the fixture to ensure quality performance and longevity. Stuff like UL and ETL listings, which is not cheap, and we will also re-design optics in fixtures for better optical output and max brightness, specify better higher quality components etc. You can compare Eliminator to brand XYZ, but you WILL get what you pay for. Also how have we in ADJ support let you down? Let us know if it's anything we can fix.

Awesome video Alex... I've noticed so many similar lights from ADJ / Eliminator coming up on amazon searches for stage lighting... just from no-name brands. I've had good luck with off brand moving heads but wouldn't recommend them for reliability and support.

I switched from shedhs to chauvet rogues and robe fixtures for my lighting as found shedhs a complete unreliable rip off fixtures got about a year and a half then they failed

I'd only biy shehds if you are willing to risk burbing down the venue. Their wuality control and aftersales when a failure occurs is horrendous. I'd rather pay twice as much and get decent support, decent spares, and decent warranty

They are all producing in China. Even pro brands like Ayrton, Martin, Prolights. They all produce in Asia. But the registration and all import risks as well guarantees are done by the brands. That's why you pay alottle bit more.

Recently I've been buying from both direct and shehds. The quality is great.

I can guarantee you that they are NOT the same at all. You will find very different components inside. Take the vortex for example. Eurolite sells the Chinese CAT-80 which looks identical but is clearly much cheaper in construction. You may not think there is much of a difference but the differences are there. ADJ does quality control here in the US and will absolutely have better customer support than some random factory in China.

I'm so tempted to buy two of these lights and open them up for you

@@DJALEXBROWN You don’t need to. The Eliminator Vortex is ETL listed and the generic chinese/eurolite is not. That’s all you need to know. The Eliminator has different gobos/DMX layout as well.

I DISAGREE with the quality but, I do agree that the price is way too high! The fixtures just are NOT worth that much especially the Eliminator Stealth Spot, and The Stealth Wash.

Why do you disagree on quality, I'd bet money if I ordered both the chinese and eliminator version, they would be the same light inside and out, if I had $1000 to dump down the drain I would make a video

@@DJALEXBROWNI have already looked inside of ADJ and chinese lights that you say are “exactly the same” and they are completely different inside. The power supply is UL listed and of much higher quality, there is proper wire protection around the bearings, plus a bunch of other small details like this that make it more reliable (and safer) than the direct chinese stuff.

@@croissantproductions But are you comparing ADJ to chinese or eliminator to chinese?

we do a lot of perm installs in nightclubs mostly where lights get a lot of millage. We used to install Robe, Martin, etc. now sense the Chinese lights have flooded the market we get now most owners (unless they have a good knowledge of lighting heads etc) want to go the cheaper route. Recently over the last few years we have used several overseas companies for their fixtures and we have a good relationship with these companies. They are not as good as quality as a higher end fixture and they wont last as long either. we do carry replacement parts etc for most of the ones we install but we do have more issues then we would with name brands but hey we now figure. For the cost of a Robe or Martin at 3000 bucks each just buy a shit ton of the least expensive lights, use them up until they start to fail throw them out in 3 years and buy new ones and rinse and repeat. Hell the Chinese lights are bright and they work well for a good amount of time. Install an insane amount of them and for nightclubs they are hard to resist.

This is nothing new. There are several Chinese manufacturers that produce lights that look identical to large name brands, because those large name brands are manufacturing lighting in china When buying from a name brand your paying for a warranty and QC

If you watched the whole video you would see I am explaining the opposite, ADJ/eliminator is taking chinese base lights and calling them a new eliminator light, also mentioned, some lights, such as the inno pocket spot, where ripped offf by chinese companies, and now eliminator is selling an exact chinese knock off under the eliminator name... IMO theres no difference in the quality, warrranty or support, just the brand on the eliminator lights mentioned.

This is why I don't buy lighting and when I first started in 2012 old school disco halogen lighting & led lighting were popular now 2024 everything is going cheep. But wouldn't chinese lights be more cheeper and they brake fast.
@DJALEXBROWN
@DJALEXBROWN 7 месяцев назад
They are literally the exact same thing, internally all the products in this video, the point being that the eliminator lights mentioned, are the same and same quality/higher price, same likelyhood to break. Effectively they are doing the same that SHEHDS does at a much higher price
