Hi, I think the Hermes bags, especially the Birkin, are beautiful. But I wouldn't be comfortable carrying them, because It's like carrying 10,000$ in cash with everyone knowing. I've settled for the 27" Ricky bag from Ralph Lauren. These are still very affordable, and in my opinion just as nice (no hype), excellent quality . I have 3 bags that I found pre-loved for a very good price (under 500$). I enjoy carrying them, and I don't have to worry about anyone trying to snatch it :-). Thanks Dacob, I agree with you completely on the mind game, and I'm definitely not a player !!!

I used to work at Chanel boutique in London and was able to purchase clothing and bags at Zara prices ( on staff sale twice a year) after a couple of years I wasn't interested in purchasing the pieces even at that price... Image. My love for the brand returned only 10 years after I left. The bags on sale were 80 GBP at the time, twelve years ago. Now I would die again to be able to buy all this 🤣

Loved this and thank you for giving a nod to the vintage. I enjoy the hunt for the beautiful old things even more than the first class boutique experience. Such joy when you find an old Chanel bag that has some current feature like a big chunky chain and it’s under $1500. There is a god.

What a wonderful community this is! To hear you and Lettie talking like we were all having coffee, just so special. I have coveted perfumes and makeup from Chanel since I was 18 ( so over 40 years!)and I saved my first bit of money to go to the big city. Now as an adult, with adult financial obligations, I have my mind set on a Chanel clutch. It will be so worth it. Thank you guys

I think Hermes give bags to who they want too! I watch a lady on here and she went on a trip to New York, never been in that Hermes boutique before and got a Birkin 30 in the colour that she was looking for so it is a bizarre game they play!
