Going to bed knowing your bank account has enough money to pay all your bills for the next six months feels a lot better than any attention for a luxury label
The rich are not like you or me. They compete among themselves with yachts, jewels, art, travel and homes. Meanwhile, we are on the subway or in the bus with our prized Louis Vuitton.
Nonsense estimations! You are too underestimating construction and production costs in Europe. Plus not all leathers, fabrics, materials are the same. For example, there is a big difference between the same type of leather price depending of its grade, the tannery reputation and location, the source of the animals used for leathers …
Luxury is a big scam designed to make those with low self esteem feel better about themselves or make the rich think they're not buying the same crap the rest of us buy due to exorbitant markups. All that money they hoard just wasted on a lie. I love the people who expose these lies with videos of their Chanel bags scuffing, falling apart, and freeing after a few wears (not even a year). Human beings are so fake it's pathetic.
The margins are not quite so dramatic because your calculations completely omits all distribution costs, staff costs and tax deductions; but even after that, the profit markup is of course still exorbitantly high. But, to each his own, if you can't think of anything more sensible to spend money on than on overpriced products to impress random people and keeping up with the Joneses.
People are clearly missing the point by pointing out overhead costs not accounted for, you don't pay for those when you buy a "luxury" item; you usually pay for premium material or craftmanship. His point is luxury brands sell garbage items with the geture of status.
I work at a school and the amount of 12-15 year olds that walk around with Gucci, Dior and other designer brands is insane. It’s sad to see people so young already showing such large signs of shallow insecuritiea
You totally ignored the costs of R&D, machinery and equipment, housing, marketing and distribution. Do you believe those Rolex watch parts roll off the foundry ready for assembly? The manufacturing of anything requires quite an investment which is much more than a simple tally of the individual raw materials.
Even after adding up all the cost, it doesn't justify the hefty price tag. Many leather artisans have been telling us this but nobody really listens because most people are obsessed with social status especially in the day and age of social media.
@@alyahamzah1952 That’s a matter of opinion, and given the value of LVMH and Rolex and many other brands the market clearly disagrees with you. Consumers determine value. Desirability, supply and demand. All else is fluff, including a tally of the individual parts. By your logic money should be worthless cause it’s just paper with printing on it.
Not just poor people politicians as well. In my country when you go to the Philippines, Check their bag mostly Louis Vuitton sometimes fake or original
The video does not do justice to the fact that these brand products are made by hand by highly trained workers. Even if some sewing work is done by machine, it takes very good people who know how to do it. Every seam and stitch length is precisely worked. The skilled workers, whether shoes bags belts small leather goods are proud of their craft and they are also rewarded with good wages. It doesn't matter what the company earns, every product is a masterpiece of craftsmanship.
