These products are not different from other “normal” makeup products in any way... it’s just a marketing strategy so that companies can make money from a male demographic as well

I like how James doesn’t sugarcoat anything and will stand for his believes. Which also includes saving our money by purchasing something way more affordable for the same function and result.
My son shyly asked me about make up today and said he wanted to know how to wear it. He is 13. Quick search and I showed him this video. He found it really helpful and funny and he was so comfortable afterwards. He's just started to get pimples so we've ordered him facial wash, a moisturiser and a concealer to start with. Thank you for making this whole 'make-up' world so accessible and inclusive for him.
I had a guy friend in school who suffered with acne bad and he’d sneak into the girls bathroom hall with us all the time to chitchat and one day he had a horrible breakout and I was in there doing my makeup and he asked me if it would cover up his acne and I said yes of course like bitch what do u think I’m doing covering up my flaws and I said come here I’ll show u and I put it on him and blended it real well and he was shocked at how u couldn’t even tell he had it on after that I bought well gave him a couple of my things and showed him how to do it and also showed him a really good skin care routine and he did this daily no guys ever noticed and to this day I think he still does!
As a man I would honestly love to see more videos like this from you... Especially just a simple basic tutorial. just please really dumb it down, because I have no idea what you're doing half the time, I usually just come for the comedy and art. Love you
It took me a while to get my boyfriend into skincare and that's just simply taking care of your skin. He'd ask if the products I use are for women and I told him "in commercials they show women using them but you can use them too, they're just as good for your skin as they are mine." Same concept for make-up I guess. Anyone can use any product if they want to.
I totally agree. I (as a generally conventionally-acting guy) have super washed-out eyebrows and honestly I really like giving them a slightly darker color to give better structure to my face. I use the brow pots from ABH or KVD and they work fantastically for me. I couldn't give a single damn that the majority of people who buy from these brands are women, or even that they are often marketed more to women. End of the day these products are freaking bomb and I get great results from them, and that's all I want.
I think the concealer is awesome. I hate when my mom says shit like “put some makeup on, your under eyes are so dark” while my brother has the same thing and she says nothing.
One guy in my highschool used foundation to cover up his acne and i think he was ashamed to buy his own make up and used his mother's or just didn't know what colour to get.... But his face was ORANGE like litteraly orange xd . I felt bad for the poor guy

As a girl who has parents that are strict on makeup, I might look into this. I like the light coverage foundation. I’m quite young and am looking for some light coverage foundation. I also like the concealer.
To be honest, concealer seems the most "normal" if someone thought makeup was for women only, my stepdad wore concealer until he got it in his eye once, and he can be very sexist and is VERY “masculine”
My little brother asked me to do his makeup this morning. And after I asked if he felt pretty he was smiling and said yes. And 8 instantly thought of you James Charles. And it made me so happy because my 4 year old brother wants to express himself
As a man who has watched and appreciated make up from a far wishing for the confidence to try it out on myself. I understand why these products exist. Its for guys like me who lack the confidence to rock "normal" make up. Its to gives us a sense that these are made just for me so it can now wear it without fearing some sort of judgement.

that's cause the make up industry is mostly targeted towards girls. They are more exclusive of guys, so there doesnt really need to be "make up for girls."
I love the fact that he said “this is not the kind of fondation I’m looking for, but I can understand where they are coming from” a lot of beauty gurus would’ve said “I don’t like that”. That’s what I love the most about him. When something is not working for him, he always sees the positive and tell us like what type of skin tone would like it, or just the type of skin! ❤️
Makeup doesn’t have a gender neither do clothes so if your trans or just like wearing different kinda of clothing or if your a boy wearing makeup go for it do what you love!❤️

That’s the thing, you don’t need to be a man to use “men’s makeup” and you don’t need to be a woman to try any makeup. It’s all the same thing, just different packaging.
@@xx-cd2mm yeah no it was designed for women first since women used to pinch their cheeks for blush, the people came up with a better solution for women by using pigments. But now anybody can wear makeup and I love that!💖
I just wish makeup brands would do a gender neutral packaging so that guys feel more comfortable buying the product and not feel like it’s specifically for women
I feel like the makeup industry is working toward being inclusive and these “men’s makeup” lines aren’t helping the progression. Having “men’s makeup” lines imply that all other makeup is for women. Why are we still drawing lines? Makeup is for everyone-it’s gender neutral.
i thought that too when i first heard it and i still do to an extent, i think the whole war paint thing is just a ridiculous gender stereotype while this whole thing is trying to break them, but i do understand james point in that it would make the average male feel more confident about starting makeup.
I completely disagree. Even in magazine photos, men’s makeup is fundamentally different to that of women’s. No lipstick, lashes, drawing eyebrows, eyeshadow etc. The whole concept of male makeup is to be a product that can primarily enhance your skin and your facial shape (through contouring). The war paint idea is brilliant to create a concept of masculinity and attractiveness found in the male face through makeup.
I mean as a pretty standard masculine dude, I don't want personality, colours or expression. I'm not particularly interested in makeup, but if I ever did try it, that's the exact opposite of what I would want. Like James pointed out, if I ever was to experiment with it, it would be shit like concealer, or general skincare. I'm not about to put on some expressive rainbow eyeshadow or something.
