I had a call with one of her assistants for the course. He asked for $12,000 on the phone that day for the full course if I signed up and paid that day. Otherwise, it was $15,000! Not much catches me by surprise anymore these days, but I was at a loss for words for a good solid two minutes. He thought my video froze because I was silent and still. Lol

Hi Shimmy, FYI - Dylan's course is $2,500 without coaching but it can cost more than 5K-10K with unlimited coaching (depending on the length of time you choose). The reason why I know is I was one of her students. In my opinion, her course is good if you like driving your own traffic through social media (which I don't like to do) and if you have a handmade business (she's really good with strategies on that because her shop is handmade). I have a print on demand shop and I struggle mostly with design and her course focuses mainly on how to run a business as a whole and they don't teach you how to design, etc...If someone is new to print on demand, and have a limited budget, I recommend Cassiy Johnson, Heather Studio and Simply Shawna (you didn't mention Shawna here but she's great) for free content. I agree with you, I would NOT spend that kind of money on a course on etsy.

@@shimmymorris1 what’s nice about Mandy and Shawna as well as cassiy is that they address the emotional hurdles around starting this type of business and the tenacity you need to succeed. This is something that many you tubers forget about, but it is essential for the process to reach your goals. I was a teacher myself so I appreciate that these people make mention of this, mindset, overcoming hurdles, etc, bc success in business isn’t just abt following the steps, it’s also about challenging your own demons and insecurities when stuff gets hard and figuring out a way around them. For me, Dylan is actually the one I feel I have learned the most from. I have watched most of the Etsy-based creators and would say she has the most scrappy, clever, and aggressive strategies out of the bunch in my opinion (although I still love Cassiy, Heather, and others). I have not bought her course so I can't speak on that, but I do know that she focuses heavily on scaling your business very quickly so that you are hiring out everything and making 6 figures fast, so I think some people buying the course may not realize that and are looking for a different kind of business strategy advice? Does feel very expensive still though.

No, Alex's strategy is to steal from people who have really good ideas and flood that market niche. I don't think I've ever heard him come up with an original idea. I put him at a never tier and that goes for anyone stealing an idea and makes a hundred variations little different from the original and calling it their own. He basically destroying the person who came up with the original concept. What a nice guy. I also disagree about anyone using Ai to create t-shirts unless it's a variation of their original artwork.

It's called business. You move slow, you'll get left behind. It's not about being first, it's about doing it right with respect to your driving incentives, e.g good product Vs profit... Etc people should expect competition. Amazon's own branded goods, are from doing the same thing!!! Stealing profitable ideas.
@scollins4436
@scollins4436 3 месяца назад
@@dan-dv2tn There is a big difference from seeing a great idea and using aspects of the concept in a different way than just taking someones idea and stealing all of their customers. If you think that just stealing an idea and stealing customers is great for you then you may want to reconsider, because one day you could find yourself in a lawsuit that could cost you a lot of money. Be original, get a trade mark, get a copyright and warn anyone who decides to infringe on your product. If they don't listen sue them for all of the money they were making off of your product plus damages to your product brand. Never lie, never steal, never think that you are better then the guy who came up with the original idea. Never take advantage of anyone. If you do it will cost you sooner or later.
@pat4005
@pat4005 3 месяца назад
Yes, I completely agree about AI. It should be banned because of the theft of people's original art under the guise of "training" the developer's software. But I have to disagree about the idea or concept use. Ideas are NOT able to become registered with the US Copyright Office. And there is a good reason for that. Anyone can have an idea. Whether the act on it, or not, and if they do a terrible job at expressing their idea or a great one, they cannot gate-keep an "idea" or concept and do not own it. IP (Intellectual Property) on the other hand, is tangible, and can be registered with the US Copyright Office, so that if it is copied or misused and abused by a lazy thief, the artist or Copyright holder can demand their copied work be deleted from a store or platform and go after monetary compensation. There would be no competition in any products if gate-keeping of ideas was somehow enforced, which would not be even possible. Everything we use everyday started as an idea. Cars, furniture, clothing, cell phones, airplanes, films, recipes, books, paint colors, etc., the list is endless and all these things started with an idea. Many people have ideas, but don't develop them, or do so poorly. No industry, whether it is a product or service, can grow without people building upon past ideas and coming up with new ones that they and others add their own take onto it. I do hate when people are lazy and cheap and outright steal other artist's, designer's and companies' IP, but as I said earlier, that is a Copyright theft.

Dylan and anyone who buys her $5,000 course is delulu. Respect the hustle to some degree but come on, it's insane, even if you're seriously invested in making POD work (which there is a high probability that you will never see that level of success even after buying the course). Her whole brand seems like a money grab and if you've seen even handful of her videos and checked out the comments, it will be a lot of people asking simple and valid questions regarding her content and she will always post a generic copy and paste answer like "Connect with me on IG - we can talk better there" where she will direct you to her services (which of course are behind a paywall) I also feel that a lot of the information she is sharing isnt even relevant to the average POD seller. She sells physical paper flowers ? Like wedding supplies if I'm not mistaken. There are so many other POD gurus who offer tons of straight forward and helpful information for those who are just starting out with POD and for those who are more advanced. I personally love Cassiy, Heather and Christina (CU Online) and I connect with them more on a personal level. Dylan is off putting. It takes a very special person to enjoy her content I think 😂🙏🏻

The whole bit about not sharing the price of her course online (except for her "how to set up an Etsy shop" $1000 Quickstart) and the aggressive sales tactics with her "free call" remind me a lot of timeshare pitches. But because I enjoy data analysis, I was able to take videos that she shared on Instagram/RU-vid/Facebook, comments from her students, and looking over her students' shops and actually piece together the key things she loves to promote from her course (7 types of products was accidentally shared on an IG live; FB strategy can be figured out by looking at the pages for her students; aggressive pricing strategy can be pieced together by observing her students' shops; etc.). It probably took me about 20 hours over the course of a year to put it all together, but that was a much better investment than the $3000 course for me!

I appreciated this video a lot! :-) I've been flip flopping between various content creators on here as I study, and honestly Im not yet familair with any of them enough to know what their specific strategy is. If I could make a suggestion though. In future edits, perhaps you could put the full names on the videos, perhaps under their pictures, or on the screen when youre talking about a specific creator. Failing that, links in the description to each creator would be amazing. Im not sure familiar with their full names or what their channels are called, and so anything to make it easier to go search for their content 🙂 Cheers!

Very surprised to see Dave Nick here. He's a known scammer and most of his videos are ridiculous get rich quick schemes that are total BS. Do not listen to a single word that guy says. Philip Anders is legit, and I also believe Alek when he speaks, although he leans pretty hard into the Get Rich angle. Nice video thanks 🙏

Thank you for your video! I'm just starting out, no shop yet, but something weird happened to me looking around (as a shopper) on Etsy last week. I went on the website, looked at two t-shirts from the same seller and the next shirt I tried to look at went to a page that gave me a message like 'You have visited too many products (?, can't remember the exact word) lately'. Wish I would have screen shot it. The message came up twice, once again after I looked at mugs or something else. I thought to myself "Why would a company selling ANYTHING try to drive clients away." Really blew my mind and made me wonder about even using them at all. Not sure I will.

I'd also totally agree with your ranking, except that you have been a bit not generous with Joe Robert. He deserves the top rank since he's also been in the business for long, albeit not sharing a lot about his shops, his designs on metal prints is a recent niche, if you check out his previous videos he's been sharing a lot of POD advice on Tshirts. Glad to see Cassiy in the list, I literally stumbled upon her channel when she was only 1000 subs old. Now a top voice o Etsy.

Warning!!!!!! If this guy is talking rubbish we are all stuffed. I would always take few ideas from everyone and combine them and try. And also how much he makes and how transparent he is. Regardless we will never know how truthful these guys are. Because the most money people make is by telling people how to make money rather than they make by implimenting their plan. It's very very easy to manipulate these profits they make as they say.

This video was genuinely so helpful. I really appreciate that you'd openly share and discuss these other teachers who are essentially your "competitors." I personally came into the POD space through Joe Robert's content. I've really agreed with his strategy of Shopify + social media, and it also made sense to me that selling higher-priced products (not t-shirts) could make it easier to be profitable with paid ads. But now that I know about you and Chris Heckman, I'll have to dig deeper into how both of you make paid traffic work with t-shirts, too. In any case, I'm with you on building your own brand/store. I sold a previous online business, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me financially.

I am in Dylan’s course and her strategy is not only for POD. Her thing is helping students building a business starting with Etsy then she helps graduating Etsy if we choose to be independent on Shopify. Her strategy works for any type of ecommerce business. I don’t say the course is the best, the coaching part is very frustrating to be honest because they are all over the place and you don’t get one person to answer your questions. You get 4-5 coaches and each one of them have a different style so you end up more confused… But honestly the amount of information they have in the course is amazing. She teaches how to find trends and what type of products you need to add to your shop then the pricing strategy in phases. I think the course itself is worth it but coaching is not

@@rachaelwelch123 I am a complete beginner and I didn’t have a shop or an idea of what to sell. I talked to her before joining the course and asked about that part specifically she said they will help me find my ideal customer and things to sell but that is not true. They just gave me general ideas and nothing for me to start with. I am really disappointed. 2.5 months into the program and I’m still scrambling. I feel like this course is designed for people who already have a handmade business and want to grow it. Not for beginners. I politely sent them my feedback hopefully they can change something
