Steven Spielberg and John Williams are one of cinema's great director-composer teams! (Others include Alfred Hitchcock-Bernard Herrmann, David Lean-Maurice Jarre, Blake Edwards-Henry Mancini, Walter Hill-Ry Cooder...)
It moves me seeing all those people singing, young people, older people, what a passion for singing and for music. They sing as if they were opera singers!
This is the best live performance of this piece I've seen on RU-vid. It has a buoyant energy that exudes so much joy! The singers are clearly enjoying themselves, and the musicianship of both the chorus and the orchestra is exceptional. Thank you for this!
"Exultate Justi", so brilliantly used by John Williams, in "Empire of the Sun". The Best sceen was when Jamie was walking away from the "Stadium of the Abandoned", after witnessing the death and, at the sametime, the explosion of one of the Atomic Bombs. "Exultate Justi", these things start falling from the sky. Just two Geniuses, Spielberg and Williams, doing their thing.
AGC did such a beautiful job with this piece of musical artwork! The instrumentals and the vocals complimented each other very well. The music is executed in a punctual and lively manner to make you sit on the edge of your seat!
This is wonderful! Translation is a bit rough but approximately... Laudamus te, laudamus! We praise you, we give praise! Exsultate, justi, in Domino; Exult, you just, in the Lord; Exsultate in Domino. Exult in the Lord. Exsultate, justi, in Domino; Exult, you just, in the Lord; rectos decet collaudatio. praise from the upright is fitting. Alleluia, Alleluia! Salvator Dominus, Salvator mundi: Qui tollis peccata mundi. You who take away the sins of the world. Cantate ei canticum novum, Sing to him a new song, bene canite ei cum clangore.
