Having watched thousands of matches over the years, I enjoyed every moment of this encounter. It was real, it was respectful, it showed nearly every dimension of our beautiful game. Played with heart throughout. Thank you to both sides for a wonderful display of rugby. An Englander of Arab descent, living in Dubai .
@@mark8200 in fairness what do you expect from a tournament being hosted in Japan - most of the supporters from the rest of the world cant make it for various reasons. that the beauty of the 6N and what makes it the best international tournament in the world.......all games are ALWAYS sold out with tickets purchased by SUPPORTERS from all participating nations - proximity is EVERYTHING!
18:49 the dive on the ball was perfect!! Uruguay was awesome and that moment played a huge part in winning the game!! Congrats Uruguay from New Zealand
Fiji thought it was going to be a walk in the park, that's why they did alot of walking and light jogging whereas Uruguay played like their lives were on the line.
@Ignore what I’m about to say but Its just a game mate! They had given the wallabies a real go a few days ago and then fielded their weakest team (12 changes) and didnt show up mentaly. With one of the many missed kicks going over it would've been a different story.
@@mikescudder4621 Its not just a game mate ! This is the Rugby WORLD CUP !!!!! That comes once every 4 years ! You dont get these moments back ever. Dont ever try to down play a world cup match .
Such a great effort! Congratulations Uruguay..you played with pride and heart against the more physical team and came out on top! Much respect from NewZealand
Thank you for the extended highlights, was awesome As Uruguayan I'd like to thanks Japan Royal Family, Authorities and all Kamaishi people for the warm welcome and care you all show to our National Team, we are honored, Kamaishi will be for us a place where miracles come true, beside we are far far away love and respect don't know distances, God bless you all, ✌️💖🇺🇾✌️🌸🍀🏉🏆💖
Uruguay is famous in soccer for the extra temperament in the players.. now starting to show in rugby.. hopefully we can keep it up!! Thank you for the nice comments and support for Uruguay!!:)
I missed the actual game but i think i've watched more than 80 minutes in replays lol. Uruguay's 14 diving on that ball that came loose of the ruck for Uruguay's last penalty summed up the whole teams determination perfectly. Am looking forward to Uruguay/Georgia on Sunday , i've been following Georgian Rugby for a couple of years now and would be backing them in any game unless it was against my home team , but Uruguay has won me over how Georgia did a couple of years ago , so am just hoping for an awesome game of Rugby and may the best team win on the day!.
A fantastic game played with hart love watching the so called 2nd tier teams they play for pride and national honor ...... the big name players in the top teams don't seem to have the same passion or play for the sheer joy of it to busy trying to protect themselves and their paychecks
@@barryking9002 Yes mate you're right , as soon as money came into the picture it did change the game a bit. Some Countries though , still play with that same pride , particularly NZ and SA come to mind.
İmagine Uruguay ends up being 3rd and qualifed directly for the next world cup. They should beat Georgia for that . it would be great for the sport . And i really like Georgia and Fiji.
@@NoOne-gx3os probably. They don't have this much imaginative skills so they focus more on the forwards and they are much stronger than Uruguay . Uruguay beat Fiji , Fiji beat Georgia and Georgia best Uruguay probably
@@qwertyyuyop9347 True, but honestly i wont be even slightly surprised if Georgia beats Fiji... if Fijians will play against Geo like they did w/ Uruguay they will lose... my respect to Fiji, i like them too, but they need to focus, never underestimate opponent side.
@@NoOne-gx3os the coach put on a completely different side for fiji he conpletely underestimated urguay. I think the game againsg Georgia he'll use a really strong lineup
I would imagine Canada would be delighted if Uruguay (and Argentina) qualified automatically for France 2023, given their own stuggles in recent years.
@@sinpalabrotas5526 my man, no doubt that the spirit is unique but then again when you play with a very talented crew, spirit alone do not score tries.
This has been a great week personally, and really for world rugby as a whole - with 2 of my favourite teams (apart from my home nation of course) winning significant games (Japan v Ireland & Uraguay v Fiji). I always cheer for these 2 teams each WC.
Felicitaciones hermanos uruguayos, es importante que todo el sector progrese. Tienen que hacer el torneo sudamericano de clubes. Saludos desde Argentina.
I saw an organized team about Uruguay. Unexpected win against an opponent certainly of level and not easy to challange. I'm sad for Fiji, but Uruguay deserved to win.
These so called second tier teams like Uruguay Georgia and Japan, are real starting to make a statement. Hopefully teams like Kenya Germany and Romania, can make the step up in the near future, and compete at this level
@@juniorsewbs7593 I've been told by some Romanians that their problems in Rugby, stem from corrupt, senior administrators. A small group of people have been exploiting the sport in Romania, for personal gain and it really started taking toll, about two years ago.
Enjoy, this is what I love about World Cups. It unites sporting fans. It happened in the football world cup last year, in the women's world cup this year and even the Cricket World Cup (Well for England).
Cosmos I can. It's been coming for years. Beat Georgia with a bonus point, then collect some points against the others and we are through..... All with only 4500 players to choose from 💕✊🏼👊🏼💪🏼🇺🇾🇺🇾🇺🇾🇺🇾🇺🇾🇺🇾
Excelente partido , mucha garra , mucho huevo , buen juego una vez mas viendo como el rugby sudamericano crece a diario ,vallan por mas Uruguay abrazos desde argentina
Did anyone else notice some questionable officiating? To me, it looked like a clean pick at 1:20, a high tackle at 4:58, and coming into a ruck from the side at 5:13. And I didn't see any Fijian off his feet at 14:25. And yes Uruguay came to play!
What's with the Fijian 21 signalling for the TMO to be used about 8 times at the 21 minute mark? This is not football, where players feel the need to tell the ref how to do his job...
Who is the commentator? The way he's saying the player names is so annoying!! Well done Uruguay! Fiji showed no respect by resting 12 players and deserved what they got!!
I believe that's Aussie Sean Maloney. He announces games in a rather dramatic fashion. I like the energy he puts into his broadcasts, actually. But yeah, he can go over the top sometimes.
Congratulations to Uruguay. Complacency, perhaps and Australian hangover did for Fiji against a never say die Uruguayan heroes who can play a bit. These lower ranked contests are beginning to capture rugby hearts and minds.
